Hey! Welcome to the website today. Sorry I've been missing for the last few days. I've been really busy and haven't even had a chance to stop by here at my own website! How've you guys been? Good?

Man! Springtime in New York! We're in the home stretch for sure. I know there are people reading this all around the country and in different parts of the world. But, man, here in New York City... what a day! Won't be long until we're out in Central Park again.

Gonna be some big changes around this website. For one thing, this past weekend I announced that every once in a while you would see this alert...

This is one of those days.

(In case you're new here and wondering... I am not an overtly "political" person. I'm really not. But, I do write what's on my mind and in my heart. Sometimes I put it in a song. That's the tradition of American rock 'n roll and folk music. Hopefully I write with as much Truth and Reason as a man can. In today's political climate, there's still a small percentage of people left who don't want to read that kind of thing. Basically, I think they're George Bush supporters who still think the war in Iraq... well, that's for another day. The "No Politics" image is my way of telling them they won't be exposed to anything they don't want to read on any particular day.)

So, today... I want to share some amazing artwork with you. It was passed on to me by a guy who visits this website named Matthew.

Doh!!! But before I do, just a little update.

EVERYBODY oughta go check out some of those Podcasts over there on the right. A very eclectic mix of people are playing my music on their shows all around the world. It's really a very cool thing. One of the things I've been so busy with the last few days is the construction of a sound booth in my apartment here in New York so that we can begin recording music and our very own Podcast... beginning perhaps as soon as next week. On my show, I'm gong to be promoting other people's show that I think are worth a listen. I'm also gonna be talking about, y'know... Life, world events, Love, movies, sex, theater... um... sex in a theater. Y'know, basically anything I wanna talk about.

But, the primary puprpose of the show will be music; to introduce you all to new artists and music you might not get to hear anywhere else. I'm also gonna have artists come in for interviews and jam sessions. Oughta be a blast. Then once a week, we'll do a video-cast from the gigs in Central Park or down at the Pier in Hudson River Park... once the weather gets warm eough. You will all be a part of those shows.

Very cool.

More about that in a couple of days. Keep checking back okay?

Okay...

Now, look at this drawing.

It was done in chalk by a street artist named Julian Beever, an English artist who's famous for his art on the pavement of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium . Beever gives to his drawings an amazing 3D illusion. But, you hafta be standing in the right position to appreciate how the drawing is meant to meet the eye. From the correct angle, for me his drawings take on an aspect of creative wonder.

Here is the same drawing from the correct position to observe it.

Get the concept. See Julian at the top of his drawing?

Okay, wait, it gets better! Look at this!

This next one might be my favorite.

Amazing!

Wait! It gets even trippier!!!

One of these guys is real... one of the beers is real.

Man! I'll have more artwork from Julian here on the home page soon. I love finding art I can really admire!

And, y'know? The essence of street art... and of Life, in microcosm?

It's all so transient, so temporary; except in our minds and our hearts.

Y'know?

I mean, one rain storm and Julian's brilliant work washes away. But, these images are now in your memory forever.

It's kinda like what we all do when we get together in Central Park, I guess. All the years we've been out there... all the music and the laughs, (the hotdogs) we've shared. Here and gone. But the good feelings stay.

Looking forward to another great summer with all of you.

See you back here tomorrow at the ol' website. Please mark this page and try to stop back every day, okay?

Listen, if you're new here go take a look through the "Archives". See what this is all about. There are FREE songs to download, original political cartoons, all kindsa stuff. There is even a message board called the "Forum" over there that the webmaster of this site (James Marino) recently re-constructed so you guys can all go and hang out... talk about whatever you want. (Just be cool, okay?)

If you wanna email me about anything at all, just click on the "Contact" button over there. I can't answer all the email I get, but I promise I eventually read every single one.

See you tomorrow.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
