Okay... kinda gettin' back into the groove after a week in beautiful Guadeloupe.

Although, first day back in New York City I was playing with a really cool dog I know, who accidentally caught my finger with a very sharp and very powerful bite.

Damn!

Index finger on my left hand... the hand that works the hand that works the fret board on a guitar.

Y'know, it's funny. Whenever I cut my hand in any way, my very first thoughts, the very instant it happens, before the pain signal even reaches my brain... my first thoughts are, "Which finger! Which finger! Can I play! Can I play!"
.

.

Then it starts to hurt.

.

Well, this time... um... I'll be taking a few days or a week off.

It's all cool. I have alot of catching up to do. It feels like I have between 3 and 4 thousand emails to read and answer. And, I hafta put in the applications for the permits to play in Central Park this year.

I know it doesn't feel like it, but it will be above 60 degress before you know it. And, I'll be out in the park for the... oh man! For the 15th summer!

Oh yeah... if you wanna help this year with the cost of the permits, you can click on that button over there on the right that says "CP PERMITS". I think you can basically choose the easiest one. A lot of you have always used PayPal. That might be the easiest. It's the little tiny button over there on the right. (I see that the week I was away James Marino already started a drive to help with that.) It really does help, y'know. Damn! I'm essentially a street musician. I guess, a modern day troubadour. And officially... one of the poor.

But, I love my life and I've got great friends.

Hey! Y'know... once again, thank you to everyone who showed up for the Voices Together Concert. It looks like we raised between 12 and $15,000 for Elissa Montanti and others who are actually on the ground, getting real and direct medical help to the innocent civilians, especially the children who are being hurt so horribly in the nightmarish violence and fear in Iraq.

Y'all done real good.

As for the very, very few spiritually bankrupt individuals who emailed me and expressed that they thought we were doing something... Ha! UnAmerican.

"I hope someday you will join us."

('nough said.)

The wonderful Christine Lavin was one of the "Voices"

Opening with "Crazy on the Same Day"

Ahmed & Dalal and their fathers with Elissa Montanti

By the way, one more time...

You all have no idea how much work a small group of committed individuals put into this concert to make it happen. Really. It was overwhelming at times. We were all makin' it up as we went along.

Dennis Riley, Sue Hannah, Leila Taylor, Beth Shane, Phyllis Shaitelman, Mimi Evans among others...

But, especially Dennis and Sue.

You guys have no idea. These two people are the core of the "Voices Together Group".

Now, the first concert is a memory. Time for me to move on to the next thing.

Listen... I would like to welcome anyone who is new to this website. Take a few minutes to go back and look through the "Archives" and see what this is all about. there are a few FREE music downloads, a few political cartoons, some Phtotshop stuff. In fact, if you click on this year-end update, you'll get a quick idea.

And, please... if you ever wanna email me personally about anything at all, just hit the "Contact" button over there. There is no way in hell I can answer all the email I get, but I promise I eventually read every single one, okay?

Right now.... today?

I'm buried in email!

But, I'm gonna spend the day trying to get out from under.

I will be back tomorrow.,

In the meantime... be cool to each other.

Oh hey, by the way... the only man to occupy the Oval Office with an arrest record ( multiple arrest record.) ...is currently breaking US law.

As Americans.. Republican, Democrat, Independent... we should all be calling for an independent special prosecutor.

See you soon.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
