Welcome to the website!

Oh man!

What're you doin' tonight and tomorrow night?

I'm gonna be doing 2 really cool gigs in the next 2 nights. Tomorrow night, I'm doing a one hour show of all the socially conscious, politically motivated and satirically funny songs I've written over the past 4 years. I'm just gonna do 'em all at once! Tell some stories about hhow and why somne of them were written. It oughta be theraputic and fun. That's gonna be at The Cutting Room. In case you've never been there, The Cutting Room is a great venue for music on West 24th Street! (So, all of you downtown and East Side people can make it without having to get out your visa and passport to travel to the other side of Central Park.) It's that place owned by Steve Walter and Chris Noth. (Y'know, the guy from Sex in the City and Law & Order.)

More about that gig in a minute.

Tonight, I'm gonna be down at the Red Lion sitting in at the SGA Songwriters Circle. There I'm gonna play original songs like Crazy on the Same Day, Relax It's Only Life... y'know the kinda stuff I play when we're hangin' out in Central Park in the summer.

The SGA Circle is very cool because I get to share a stage with some amazing writers. Tonight, George Wurzbach and Sam Leopold, both of whom you heard at The Voices Together Concert in January, are gonna be there. ("Both of whom?" Is that right? Doesn't sound right. Oh, well....) So, are John Wallowitch, David Abbinanti and Skip Brevis.

George and I listening to Sam at the circle.

It's really a very cool hang.

The music goes from 7:00 to 9:00

Now... okay, again.

Tomorrow night, the doors open at The Cutting Room at 7:00 and the music starts promptly at 7:30. If you show up, I'm gonna ask for your opinions the following day, here on the website in the "Forum" (message board). I really wanna know what you guys think about the tunes and stories I'm gonna string together. I have a germ of an idea about what to do with some of this stuff. Tomorrow night is gonna be a kind of Creative and social experiment in many ways.

Tickets are only $10 for that show and they're sold at the door.

Hope I see you and a few friends there tomorrow night.

Listen, I might be back a little later this afternoon to update this page again. I'm kinda runnin' around today, takin' care of things that you hafta take care of when you move from one apartment to another in Manhattan.

But, listen, I know there are people reading this page in different parts of the country and around the world. But, if you live in or around New York City, and if you feel like helping out with this year's "Permit fund"... now would be a good time to do it. I put the paperwork and fees in for most of the permits to play on "The Hill" in Central Park already. If everyting goes smoothly, and it doesn't rain like it did last Spring, we'll be hanging out together before you know it.

So if you feel like it, the webmaster James Marino has made it really easy. There are two buttons over there on the right. PayPal actually keeps a smaller percentage of your donation. But, either method is good.

But, only if you feel like it and only if you can afford to help out. Remember, it's most important to me that you show up... with or without your money.

Also...

Take a few minutes to look around and browse the "Archives", okay? There are original cartoons, like this one.

And, I promise I'll be doing more... once I find which cardboard box has my pen, pencil and drawing pad in it!?

There are also FREE song downloads on this site!!!

I wrote a song late last year about a cowboy with a secret... a different kind of secret.

Here. It's a FREE download for you guys. (All you hafta do is click on this picture and listen or download it for FREE.)

Pass it around to all your friends.

"A different COWBOYS LAMENT"

And, if you ever wanna email me about anything, just hit the "Contact" button. (I can't answer all the email I get. But, I promise I read every one.)

Okay. Maybe I'll see you tonight or tomorrow night.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
