Yeah... snowing in New York.

Just a classic nor'easter.

But, snow or no snow. I'm gonna head to The Cutting Room to do a gig for Sid Bernstein. (More about that in a minute.) The Cutting Room is that music hall owned by Chris Noth... the guy from Sex in the City and Law & Order.

Anyway... y'know, I recently met a whole bunch of wonderful people when I was making music down in the French West Indies.... on the island of Guadeloupe. A lot of them came from all over the U.S.

Some live in the West, a whole bunch in California. Some live in the warm South.

Well, this is what New York City looks like in the snow.

Yeah... we're gettin' dumped on today. I hafta cancel something that is really, really important to me. But, it's over in Jersey and there's no way I can make it.

Okay, but listen... it's the 42nd anniversary of the day Sid Bernstein brought The Beatles to America and put them in Carnegie Hall. Eventually, Sid would be responsible for most of the so-called "British Invasion", putting The Rolling Stones in Carnegie and bringing Herman's Hermits here with so many others. He also produced the legendary "Concert at Shea" for the Beatles.

I know I can get down to West 24th Street later. I'm grateful to call Sid a really, really good friend, now. And, he's got a fun thing goin' on at 6:00 today at The Cutting Room on West 24th Street. So, I'm gonna show up. I'll probably do a couple of my own tunes... maybe a couple of brand new songs. And of course, I'll hafta do a couple written by the 4 lads. Should be a really fun show with a bunch of various artists all doing Beatle tunes.

Look, if you live in New York and you're a little cabin-fevered, you can at least make it to a subway and hoof it over to The Cutting Room at 6 this evening. We'll ride out the storm together.

Here's something fun I posted a couple of days ago.

Oh hey... once again, "Thanks" to everyone who is helping out with the Permit Fund this year. I put all the appilcations in two days ago. Won't feel like it this weekend in this snow, but before you know it we'll be starting our 15th summer in Central Park. So, if you wanna be a part of it and help out by throwing a few dollars at the Permit Find, just clkick on te PayPal button or the other thing over there on the right. James Marino (webmaster) made it really easy for you guys to help out if you feel like it... but, ONLY if you feel like it.

Very cool.

Remember... I'd much rather have you there than your money.

I would like to welcome anyone who is new to this website. Take a few minutes to go back and look through the "Archives" and see what this is all about. There are a few FREE music downloads, a few political cartoons. (I posted a new one yesterday) There are some Photoshop things. In fact, if you click on this year-end update, you'll get a quick idea.

And, please... if you ever wanna email me personally about anything at all, just hit the "Contact" button over there. There is no way in hell I can answer all the email I get, but I promise I eventually read every single one, okay?

Okay... out into the snow.

Maybe I'll see you tonight at The Cutting Room.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
