Yeah... re-entry.

Y'know, it's so good to be back in New York City. I know there are always people reading this across the country and in different parts of the world. But, if you are one of the beautiful people I hung out with in Guadeloupe last week.... welcome to my website.

If you feel like it, click on the "Archive" button and go back as far as you like to see what this thing is all about.

Gotta say once again, "Thank You" to all my good friends who took care of a few things while I was away... especially the webmaster of this site, James Marino, for updating this homepage, and my good friend, Dennis Riley, for hangin' out with Thurman. (The cat.)

I just spent an amazing week in an island paradise, surrounded by hundreds of good, good people... people who are not afraid to be children and yet are sincerely trying to be the best grownups they can be. To be around that kind of energy, to be in the middle of that kind of Spirit for a week is an invigorating, rejuvenating and inspiring experience. I was grateful to be part of it all. And, I think my guitar and me made a few memories that some people will feel are worth keeping. Man! We laughed alot. That's a tonic for the soul, for sure. Of course, I ran into a few people who just... y'know... don't "get it" quite yet. But, just trying is moving in the right direction if you ask me.

Myself? I have so much to learn and a whole lot of growing to do. I'm grateful for that.

The ache of being human.

The ache of being alive.

I don't want a cure for that.

Maybe my job, for now, is to write about it and once in a while put it in a song to let the next man or woman know that they are not alone.

Before you know it, it'll be above 60 degrees and we'll get to do that same thing in Central Park one mo' time.

If you were with me in Guadeloupe, you might have noticed I was one of the few people who wasn't walkin' around with a digital camera, or even one of those disposable things. So if you are so inclined, would you email me any photos of you guys and the whole week down there that you think I might enjoy? I already miss your shining faces. Maybe I'll even post some here in this site. Oh yeah, and if you wanna email me about anything at all, just hit the "Contact" button over there. (That goes for everybody.) I never have time to answer all the email I get, but I promise you that I read every single one.

Hey listen... last week after the Voices Together Concert, I went to the reception in the Thalia Cafe, then stopped at my apartment around 2am, then jumped in a taxi and went straight to airport to catch an early morning flight to Guadeloupe. I haven't had a phone or internet access all week. (Deep breath... ahhhhh) So, I haven't had a chance to speak to all the people involved in that beautiful effort to help those Iraqi kids. I'll share some stories with you guys this week, okay? But, for now let me just say again.... thanks so much!

I'm probably gonna try to update this page again a little later today or tonight... but, definitely by tomorrow moring... once I get back into the swing of things.

For now...

...here are a few images of the Voices Toether concert last week.

If you have any thoughts or feelings you wanna share about that gig, or about anything at all, please feel free to jump into the "Forum" (message board) and say "Hey".

.

I'll talk to you soon.

.

.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
