Are you new at this website?
Welcome.
Feels like I'm kinda back in a groove... but, with a new kinda clarity. And, I feel really good about moving forward with so many things.
SNOW this weekend?
Maybe a whole lot here in New York City, Saturday through Sunday. We'll see.
Gotta say, right up front. "Thanks" to everyone who is helping out with the Permit Fund this year. I put all the appilcations in two days ago. Won't feel like it this weekend, but before you know it we'll be starting our 15th summer in Central Park.
Very cool.

Hey, yesterday I mentioned that I would be willing to head to your town... to your part of the country or your part of the world to do a concert. If that sounds like something you'd even consider, gimme a shout. Just hit the "Contact" button over there, okay? (Actually, you can email me about anything at all by hitting that button. I can't answer all of the email I get. But, I promise I eventually read every single one.)
So, what's goin' on this week?
Well, this coming Sunday I'm gonna do that gig at The Cutting Room for my good, good friend Sid Bernstein. (Google him. He's the guy who changed history by bringing The Beatles to America... among his many other wonderful accomplishments.) The gig is at 6:00 pm. Oughta be a lotta fun. That's a great music venue.
Here's something kinda fun that showed up in Parade Magazine a few summers back.

I'm just grateful to call Sid my friend.
Had a really good conversation yesterday with Nelson Montana, the bass player who worked with me on the last two albums ("Crazy on the Same Day" and "Common Ground") and who you've all heard at Merkin Hall and Makor and other concerts. We both kinda kicked around the idea of getting out there and playing more venues around New York, and finding a way to record a bunch of the new songs I've written in the past year that haven't made it onto any CDs yet.

'Bout time to record a few of these new tunes, like "You Don't Know" and "A different Cowboy's Lament" and "I Love the Company" and "Internet Angel" and so many others.)
Oh, yeah... promised you a new cartoon!
Yeah, I got out my pen and pencil and came up with this... inspired by Alberto Gonzales' shameful support of a spying program that circumvents US law. (This is so much more serious and unAmerican than Watergate, kids.)
But, the Attorney General that George W. Bush appointed mistakenly feels his loyalty lies with the man who gave him a job and not with his real boss.... The American People. He seems to believe that, regardless of the Constitution and the FISA Act of 1978, the executive branch of our government can act with impunity, independent of oversight by both the Judiciary and the Legislative branches... basically, spitting in the eye of the founding fathers who developed this basic system of checks and balances to protect all Americans from exactly this kind of thing.
.
Anyway... I think this little piece of artwork needs no caption.

Anyway, I have a lot to do today. Meeting with a guy about doin' a gig down around 23rd Street. And, then... I'm taking my niece, Meron, to a "Father/Daughter Dance".
I'll be back tomorrow.
Thanks for everything.
