Monday, January 23, 2006

Good day.

EVERY day is a whole new gig, y'know that?

No rehearsal.... this is the gig. And, it's a whole new show today. Nobody in the world has ever done a January 23, 2006 before. We're all makin' this up as we go along.

Maybe we can make this an extraordinary day.

Yeah... like... even if you think you can't really afford it, maybe you can call a friend and talk them into getting a ticket with you to the Voices Together Concert this coming Saturday night at Symphony Space. That would be an extraordinary thing to do today. It'll feel great, too.

Thanks for stoppin' buy the website today. Y'know, people from all over the country and different parts of the world stop by here at the "Guitar Man" website. Well, here in New York City, today it's cold and rainy... a far cry from warm, sunny Saturday afternoons of music in Central Park.

Still, the feeling is gonna be warm and wonderful this Saturday in Symphony Space, on Broadway at 95th Street. Imagine yourself in the middle of a great concert hall, surrounded by good-hearted people, all sharing the music and smiles for the same good reason.

Gonna be a great night. Hope you're in the middle of it.

If you're new here and you wanna know more about this event, click on this logo...

...and visit the Voices Together Website. you'll find out what this concert is all about and the groups of people we are trying to help.

Ordinary people... helping ordinary people.

.

Actually, here are some more websites you can visit. (Y'know... I know some of you are sitting at your desk at work right this minute, and your boss isn't looking, and you need something to do!)

So, here's the lineup of artists who are gonna be on stage this Saturday. Click on the picture and you can vist each of their websites, too.

. . . .

They are... Christine Lavin, Karlus Trapp, Modern Man, Roger Bartlett, Sam Leopold... and me.

You all know that, personally and artistically, I never shy away from letting my thoughts and feelings known... especially here at the "Guitar Man" website. But like I said, I hope we can all come together for this purpose.

It's also gonna be an amazing night... a whole lotta fun to be a part of. It's gonna be a night of smiles, purpose, laughter, some tears.... but mostly an evening of music.

Oh, by the way... the good peoople over at ABC's "The View" have given us a few VIP tickets to their show. So, if you feel like having a chance to go on over to the ABC studio and sit in on the taping of "The View", we'll raffle off the tickets at the concert this Saturday night.

And listen, just for the helluvit... if you're new here and you wanna check out some of the fun stuff we were up to last year, there is a bunch of it in this update. Click here and check it out.

Listen, I gotta get out there and get to work. If you feel like emailing me about the concert or anything at all, just click on the "Contact" button. I can't answer all the email I get. But, I promise I eventually read every single one.

All you hafta do today to make today an extraordinary day and make a real difference in somebody's life is buy tickets tickets. You can get tickets, right now... today... at the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for a little miracle to happen.... so, that we can announce another special guest. So, keep checking back okay?

Okay... back later.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
