Welcome to the website.
Y'know... we do so many fun things here on this website. And according to the stats, people from different parts of the country and different parts of the world visit here all the time. They hit the "Contact" button and send me emails and photos and stuff. And, even though I can't possibly answer them all, I promise I eventually read every single one of them. It's all very cool. It really is.
Like... if you hit the "Archive" button, you'll find yesterday's newest George W. Bush cartoon. And, if you browse through other updates, you'll find all kindsa fun and insane stuff.
But, personally? This January 4th? This is a day of intense emotion for me. So packed with feelings. Quiet gratitude. Immense sadness. Indescribable joy. A feeling of purpose, and a genuine feeling of humility. For alot of reasons... some very personal.
First... guys... seriously. Let me say "Thank You" for allowing me to share my music with all of you in Central Park every summer for the past 14 years.

Thank you.
And, HEY! In 24 days, we'll all be in SYMPHONY SPACE for the Voices Together Concert. I'm gonna be saring a stage with some really really amazing artists. And, hopefully a couple of really special guests will show up that night. (I hope you are planning to be in the crowd.) More about that in a minute, okay?
First, not to bring you down... but if you would, wherever you are reading this... a sincere moment of silence for the families of the 12 miners who lost their lives underground in West Virginia.

Y'know... I mean it when I say, even with these kinds of things goin' on in the world every day. Damn! It's a wonderful world. We all have the capacity for such incredible Goodness and Kindness in the face of heartache. And, we all have such an ability for selfishness, shallow-mindedness and cruelty. The choice is always ours.
I guess it comes down to "paying attention", hah?
Did you know? As that tragedy was unfolding, as every facet of the TV news media was trained on that part of the country, as so many American eyes were focussed on waiting families and rescue efforts in West Virginia... a war is also raging at the same time right around the other side of the planet?
Yep, still going on. Still killing. Still horribly injuring dozens and dozens of civilians a day.
And, did you know that yesterday at the same time those families were feeling their pain in West Virginia, a U.S. air strike killed 14 members of one family in the oil refining town of Baiji in northern Iraq? These things happen in a war.
The air raid destroyed one house, killing the 14 people inside, said the spokesman for the Joint Coordination Center, which handles information and liaises between U.S. and Iraqi forces. Another four houses were hit and three people were injured in the raid on Monday night, he said.
See? It's just a question of where you're looking I guess.

That's why a few of my very good, good friends and some amazing fellow artists are getting together on Jauary 28th here in New York City for the...

(Click on the logo and visit the Voices Together website, okay?)
Look, I don't give a shit politically how you feel about the war one way or the other. But, it's a war. And, in this particular war, unlike most, the overwhelming number of people being killed and horribly injured are the civilians..... ordinary people like you and me.... even thousands of children.

We found a way to get direct help to some of these people.
Help us... to help them, okay?
The Voices Together Concert is NOT a political thing.
It is a Good thing to do.
Period.
So, reach into your heart and make a decision to get your tickets today, okay?
You won't be sorry. It's gonna be a special night... a night of purpose, Love, commitment, laughter, a few tears.... but, mostly music.
I'm trying so hard to get a very, very special guest to stop by that night. But, already.... the lineup of artists is going to guarantee that this will be one of the most amazing nights of music and smiles in the coming year. Most of these names you might not be familiar with.... but, I am. And, I promise.... this is gonna be great. I feel very lucky just to share a stage with these people.
