Welcome to the website.
Hey... 25 days until the Voices Together Concert.
More about that in a minute.
If you're new here, or reading this in a different part of the country or a different part of the world... I am called "That Guitar Man from Central Park" because... y'know, I'm a very lucky man.

This is what I do half the year!
But, here it is winter and I'm still just makin' it up as I go along.
Last night, I visited Birdland for another edition of Jim Caruso's Cast Party. Gotta say... the women carried the night. Amazing, amazing voices and beauty.... Hilary Kole, Erika Weander, a young woman from Japan named Yuki Yamaguchi, and a whole contingent from the Netherlands complete with backup singers. Just really happenin'. Damn! I love how discovering other artists consistently surprises and delights me. Man! People can really take you by surprise in the best ways when you're open and paying attention.
I met a woman who's kinda new to New York City, and whose voice and allure really drew me in. I wanna sing a couple of duets that I've written with her, and would love to write stuff for her to sing solo. Her name is Chelsea. Chelsea... um... something. And you may be hearing more about her soon. Last night was also my new friend and fellow songwriter, Christine Lavin's birthday. She's always a serious joy to be around.
Don't even ask what I did on that stage. But, it was a fun night. Very cool.
Damn! I love writing and making music.
Oh, hey! Yesterday I was threatening you guys that I'd show up with a new political cartoon.
Well, yeah. I just finished a new cartoon. Here's my latest offering with pen and pencil.

Yeah, the illustration works for me. But, I'm kinda proudest of the fact that I feel like this drawing captured George W's really embarrassing "13-year-old-tough-guy-stance". Go ahead. Pass this around to all your friends. If you wanna get some of the other cartoons, go to the December 31st update in the "Archives".
Oh, why'd I do this cartoon you ask? Two reasons.
Because this man obviously broke the law.
And, of course... um... I hate freedom.
Okay, moving on.
VOICES TOGETHER... January 28th at Symphony Space on Broadway.
As a completely independent musician in every way, I got together with a bunch of friends and fellow artists to put together a great night of music on January 28th for a really good reason.
Now, the Voices Together Concert is a completely non-political effort. The main thing and the best thing about this benefit concert is singleness of purpose.
"Ordinary people... helping ordinary people."
Ordinary people like you and me doing something positive to get direct and very practical help to the ordinary people, the Iraqi civilians, especially the children, who are taking the brunt of the casualties every day in the war in that part of our world.
Click on this logo right now to check out the website we created for this gig.

We actually created the separate website because you all know that on this website I don't shy away from expressing my feelings and thoughts. But, this concert has nothing to do with the way any of us feel about the war, one way or the other. This concert is to help the people being hurt by it most.... PERIOD.
.
It's gonna be a special night... a night of purpose, Love, commitment, laughter, a few tears.... but, mostly music.
I'm trying so hard to get a very, very special guest to stop by that night. But, already.... the lineup of artists is going to guarantee that this will be one of the most amazing nights of music and smiles in the coming year. Most of these names you might not be familiar with.... but, I am. And, I promise.... this is gonna be great. I feel very lucky just to share a stage with these people.
Christine Lavin
Roger Bartlett
George Wurzbach, Dave Buskin, Rob Carlson (aka Modern Man)
Karlus Trapp
Sam Leopold
And ...me.
But, y'know... I may just jump into the audience and hang with you guys.
