Hey... welcome to the website. Thanks so much for stopping by. Y'know, I really like looking at the statistics on this site and seeing where people are checking in from. It's cool knowing that we have friends now in different parts of the country and around the world.

Well, here in New York it looks like we're gonna get a little more snow tonight. Very cool.

Y'know, I love the change of seasons in New York City. I really do. I dig the idea of Thanksgiving alot. I love the holiday-filled sprint on the final stretch of another lap around the Sun. I love the way the city dresses up and I LOVE so much of the music written for this time of year.

And, I love snow in the Big Apple. (Until about January 10th! Then I'm ready for springtime again!) And then right around the middle of February, I start itchin' to get back out to "The Hill" in Central Park for our outdoor concerts.

A few winters ago, a sweet couple from "The Hill" emailed me a photo of a snow-man they made... a "Snow-guitar-man", complete with a little twig guitar and a stick microphone stand. Ha! Very cool. (Literally.)

I think if I do a little Photoshop magic, I'll put myself next to the snowman, kickin' around a song... so, I can tell people the short one is my partner and good, good friend Roger Bartlett! Hey! Y'know, there's an outside chance that "Dodger" (Roger) is gonna be coming through town on Saturday December 17th, the night of the "Year-End Holiday Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. I spoke with him a couple of day ago. If he's in town, he's definitely, gonna show up. Keep your fingers crossed. I've played Merkin Hall over 10 times, and Dodge had always been there with me.

Believe it or not this yearly tradition, the concert at Merkin, is less than two weeks away. You can get tickets by calling the box office today if you want:

Merkin Concert Hall is right over by Lincoln Center, just off Broadway. It's a wonderful room to play... very intimate. There are only 450 seats in Merkin, and even the balcony is right on top of the stage. Actually, there's a whole group of people who request balcony seats every year. (Another tradition, I guess.)

So, seriously, call a few friends and get tickets this week, okay? Or, just come by yourself! A lot of people do!

It's Just us!

Damn! I can't wait to hang out with all of you one mo' time before 2005 heads out the door!

And, maybe "Dodger" will be there to share the stage.

Speaking of which... y'know, this week marks a sad day when a really fine singer/songwriter's time here on earth was cut short. I guess I kinda wonder what it would have been like to share a stage just once with an artist like John Lennon. It wouldn't have been completely out of the realm of possibility. Y'know, he lived a stone's throw away from "The Hill". Wouldn't that have been magic. Maybe he wulda come by one summer afternoon and sat in like so many people do. But, man! This week, it'll be 25 years since he stopped making music. He wrote alot of great stuff. I wonder if he's dig my songs. Maybe we woulda sung "Imagine" together"... maybe "Crazy on the Same Day".

Oh, well... fun to wonder about for a moment.

Hmmm. Maybe at Merkin Concert Hall we'll sing John's "Happy Christmas". That's an idea!

I'm thinking that night, since I'm gonna have so many wonderful people in that hall and so many gifted people in the audience, I'm just gonna have a blast bringing people up on the stage to join me.

If you've ever been to one of these concerts, you know the great energy in that room. And, if you've never been to one... try to make this one.

Y'know? Meet a few friends for dinner in the area beforehand.... or, plan on going out for that holiday drink after the gig. Make a night of it. We moved it to Saturday night this year! And, we lowered the price to $20 for all seats to give everybody a well-deserved break!

Hope you get your tickets this week.

Box Office Hours:

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
