Well, if you're reading this and you live in New York City, how're you guys makin' out? Are you gettin' around okay?
I'm getting emails and people are telling me how they're managing through this transit strike. It really sucks that this went down this week. I'm so sorry for those of you who are missing out on holiday things you planned. But, try to really pay attention and look at the cool stuff in your life, okay?
Anyway, it's a long way from hanging out in Central Park in the summer... singing together and sharing a few laughs in the Sun, isn't it?

Central Park just a few months ago.
But, despite the bullshit timing of this strike... it's still the "When-Harry-Met-Sally-Time-of-Year" as far as I'm concerned. The city is still filled with spirit and romance. And, there's something uniting and a little bit cool about millions of New Yorkers going through stuff like this together.
Anyway... hey listen. We've got more important things to talk about today.
Really.
There is a wonderful and important event coming up toward the end of January. On January 28th, we're all gonna be in Symphony Space, on Broadway at 95th Street, for the Voices Together Concert. There is a war going on in Iraq... right now... as you are reading this.

Um... Mr. Cheney? Who gets this re-construction contract?
.
The answer?
We do.
Yeah... my friends and I, and a group of my fellow artists, decided we hadda do something to help. And so, we're putting together a night of purpose, smiles, commitment, laughter, a few tears... but mostly a night of music. Here in New York City, we plan to raise as much money as we can to help make a direct difference in the lives of some of the people in Iraq, especially the children, who need help desperately.
Look... unlike most benefit concerts, every single cent of the proceeds from this gig are going to two groups of remarkable people who are helping the ordinary civilians in Iraq who are suffering so terribly because of the war that is raging in their part of the world. (LIFE and Global Medical Relief Fund) And, when you buy a ticket or make a donation, it is all tax-deductible. Plus, the whole idea of this effort is...
...ordinary people helping ordinary people.
No government. No military. No politics. Just people helping people who need help.
Please go... right now... to visit the VOICES TOGETHER WEBSITE.
