Sorry for the late update. I had the whole thing done, and the browser just, y'know... quit. So, I lost the whole thing. Now, I can't really remember what the hell I was writing about in the first place! Ha!

I do know that when I woke up this morning and saw the kind of snow that we got in New York City last night and this morning... the kind that hugs each branch of a tree, lines every railing, and turns every traffic light into a little Christmas tree for a few hours... the little kid in me smiled.

I love snow at this time of year.

Well, up until about January 10th.

Then, I want the Spring to arrive immediately so we can head back out to Central Park barefoot and share some music togther like we always do. That's how this whole thing got started after all. Just by heading out to the park with all of you for an afternoon of music. It's very cool.

Y'know, maybe this snow will put you in the mood to head indoors with all the same faces from the summer for the annual "Year-End Holiday Cocncert" at Merkin Concert Hall. It's week from this Saturday!

Hey! Y'know Kathi Gillmore? The wonderful singer who sometimes jumps up and sings my song "I Can't Wait" with me in the park? Well, she was supposed to be moving to the West Coast this Fall, but the move got delayed. So, she told me she's gonna be in town for the Merkin gig and she'd love to sing "I Can't Wait" one mo' time before she leaves.

I... um... I can't wait.

Kathi will sing with me at Merkin Hall

There are gonna be so many cool people in the audience that night, that I decided this year's theme (If there ever is one.) .. is truly gonna be "It's Just Us". Y'know? I think we'll kinda make it up as we go along like we always do. But, I really wanna see if I can get some of these people out of the audience and up onto the stage with me to have some fun.

This concert is a blast every year. But, this year feels like it's gonna be a very special night. I can feel it already. Between Jim Hedleston (producer) and myself, we decided to lower the price of all the seats to $20 this year... to give everybody a break! And, the thing is on a Saturday night which is very cool. So, you can call a few friends and make a night of it. Or, come by yourself. A lot of people do!

Listen, webmaster James Marino made it easy to get tickets online if you want, by clicking that link over there in the right near the poster. Or, you can call the Merkin box office directly... TODAY!

This great music hall is right over near Lincoln Center, on West 67th Street. And, there ain't a bad seat in the house. Seriously. There are only 450 seats in the whole place and the sound is great everywhere. Even the balcony is right on top of the stage!

Make plans to be there, okay?

I think I'm gonna shre this one more tme.

Y'know, a lot of people hung out over in Strawberry Fields last night in memory of John Lennon... a fine songwriter, peace activist and New Yorker. I guess I kinda wonder what it would have been like to share a stage just once with an artist like John. It wouldn't have been completely out of the realm of possibility. Y'know, he lived a stone's throw away from "The Hill". Wouldn't that have been magic. Maybe he woulda come by one summer afternoon and sat in like so many people do. But, man! This week, it'll be 25 years since he stopped making music. He wrote alot of great stuff. I wonder if he's dig my songs. Maybe we woulda sung "Imagine" together"... maybe "Crazy on the Same Day".

Oh, well... fun to wonder about for a moment.

Hmmm. Maybe at Merkin Concert Hall we'll sing John's "Happy Christmas". That's an idea!

Um... there are people visiting this website from all across the country and in different parts of the world. But, if you're gonna be in New York in about 8 days, try to join us for the "Year-End" event, okay? If you're not from around here... maybe we'll find a way to record the night and make it available as a Podcast or something. We'll see.

But, also... if you're new here, take a few minutes and browse thrugh the "Archives" over there. See what we've been up to in recent weeks. There are FREE songs to download, FREE cartoons to print out and pass around the internet. (As long as you tell people where you got 'em.)

Cool?

And, if you need to email me about anything at all, just click on that "Contact" button over there and I'll get the message. I promise that I read every single email I get, although I never have time to answer them all.

So, have fun today... and, maybe I'll see you at Merkin Hall in about 8 days.

Saturday, December 17th... 8:00

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
