Hey! Thanks for stopping by the website. If you're reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world... welcome.
But, if you live in or around New York City, and have been out to "The Hill" in Central Park with me....

...I hope you're making plans to come to Merkin Concert Hall this coming Saturday night. Yeah... this is the weekend for the annual "Year-End Holiday Concert".
I just checked at the box office. There are still a bunch of good seats available in the orchestra, and even better seats in the front rows of the balcony! I have a feeling you're gonna be able to walk up and get tickets the night of the show. But, you might wanna call today to grab those better seats.

The box office is open today!
Actually, there isn't a bad seat in Merkin Hall. It's a very intimate space and the acoustics are great eveywhere.
So, if you're coming with a whole group, (ahem... "Barnard Girls") ...you might wanna get a whole block of seats in the front rows of the balcony if you can't get 'em together in the orchestra. (But, dancing in the aisles is definitely permitted anywhere in the theater!)

Merkin Concert Hall is right near Lincoln Center. It's on West 67th Street... between Broadway and Amsterdam. The gig starts at 8:00
I've said it here before. I'm gonna make this a real "feel good" night. There are gonna be so many wonderful and talented people in the audience and I'm gonna try to get a few on stage to do stuff with me. Kathi Gillmore, Cindy Bubniak, Dave Marcus, Erika Weander and Jim Caruso. We'll probably wind up laughing as much as we sing.
We'll see.
Y'know? I love the fact that I'm better off not really nailing down exactly what's gonna happen on that stage on Saturday night. It's so much cooler riding the wave. That's also 'cause I've had enough experiernce at this particular concert to know that the energy in that room is always filled with genuine warmth and... fun.
And, we're gonna have a few very special guests in the audience that night. (Not gonna tell you who they are.) But, it's gonna be a special night... a very, very special night.
I promise we'll do our best to put a smile on the holidays, and on 2005... and, then kick it in the ass as it heads out the door.
Oh. Oh. Oh, yeah... bring a few extra dollars! Even if you already own most of my CDs, okay? Because you might wanna pick up one or two as last minute Christmas gifts for people. The reason being, I just got my hands on two single CDs... singles of two songs that are NOT available on any of the other CDs. (One of them, you will hear for the very first time on Saturday Night!) I'm giving them away for FREE! I mean, if you buy one of the other albums... YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR CHOICE OF A SINGLE FOR FREE!
They'll be available before and after the show.
This Saturday... definitely gonna help you all celebrate FESTIVUS! That holiday for the rest'v us! I'm even gonna try to find a Festivus Pole for the stage.
If you have no idea what I'm talkng about, y'gotta catch up on your Seinfeld. Y'know, I have a few friends who work in television. Maybe I'll try to find out when TBS or FOX is gonna air episode-166... "The Strike". That's where Festivus was introduced to the world. Y'know, it's funny. Not that this has naything to do with anything... but, at Birdland last Monday night I was talking with singer/actress Julie Garnye (who just got her frist Broadway show by the way.) And, she said last week she was having dinner with the father of writers Larry and Dan O'Keefe. Dan was the writer on Seinfeld who brought in the idea of Festivus because his father had invented it. She had dinner with the father of Festivus!
Man! It's just a very small campus in a lot of ways.
Here... CLICK ON THIS PHOTO from Seinfeld!

And yeah, this week I wrote a new Festivus Song!!!
At Merkin Hall, we'll leave some of my songs about world events and social conscience at the door for this one night.... songs from the newest album "Common Ground". But, y'know? I'm still getting a bunch of requests for this particular song.... from different parts of the US and even several countries. (Well, it is a FREE download after all.) Thanks to my friend and colleague, Christine Lavin, I guess it's getting radioplay in different states. So, if you wanna download the song "JesusLand", just click on this link...
In America, satire is protected speech... even from people "who miss the point!"
Okay, I have alotta stuff to do today. In my life... one day almost never resembles the day before.
So, maybe I'll stop in and update this thing again in a little bit. (Probably not. I say that all the time!)
Whatever you're doing today, enjoy it. And, be kind to yourselves and to each other, okay?
See you Saturday night.
Thanks again.
