Hey... welcome to the website. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Yeah, it's that Festivus time of year! (Oh yeah... and, Christmas and Channukah and Kwanza, too.)
So, that means it's also time for our annual "Year-End Holiday Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. Can't believe it. It's a week from this Saturday night on December 17th at 8:00. That kinda came up fast.
It feels like only a couple of weeks ago we were all out in Central Park, hangin' out in the Sun on "the Hill"... singin' together.

Well, time to move it indoors.
Y'know, I've played Merkin Hall over 10 times. And every time, my good friend and partner, guitarist Roger Bartlett has been on that stage with me. Well, "Dodger" moved out to Las Vegas at the end of the summer. So, this is the first time he won't be there with us for this yearly tradition. I thought if I asked another guitar player to do it and put the band together for this gig, it just wouldn't feel right. Probably be better if I did the thing kinda solo... 'cause it just wouldn't be right to do the whole big thing without Dodge.
So, this concert has kind of developed into a real "make-it-up-as-we-go-along"... "It's Just Us" kinda thing. I've been learning that there are gonna be a whole lotta really talented people in the audience. So, I think we'll have a lot of fun calling a few up on stage to sing and do stuff. Should be a blast.
.
And, I was thinkin' it might be cool to do something witten by John Lennon this year. (He's been gone for 25 years. Believe that!?) Being "That Guitar Man from Central Park", this morning I went looking for the oldest picture I could find of The Beatles visiting Central Park. This is what I came up with. (If that's the San Remo in the background, then that's "The Hill" back there.)
.
I don't know... just kinda cool for some reason.
Anyway, hey listen! Yeah... call the box office today okay?

We are gonna have fun this year. We always do. If you've ever been to one of these, you know what I'm talkin' about. I stopped by the Merkin box office yesterday to check, and there are plenty of really good seats left... even in the balcony. (Which is really, really close to the stage.) And acoustically, Merkin is one of the best venues in this town. It's just north of Lincoln Center, on West 67th street... right off Broadway. A lotta great places to go for dinner before the gig and great places on Columbus Avenue to go for a drink after the show. Get some friends together and make a night of it.
Listen, I gotta run right now. I'm getting together with one of the great women who wanna sing a song with me that night. We'll run something together, probably from the new album "Common Ground". So, maybe I'll be back a little later to update this page again.
In the meantime, I know there are people visiting this webste from different parts of the country and differents parts of theworld. If you're new here, go ahead and click on the "Archives" button and take a look around. And, if you wanna email me personally about anything at all, just click on that "Contact" button, okay? I can't answer all the email I get. But, I promise I actually read every single message I get.
Hope I see you a week from Saturday!
Thanks again.
