Hey... welcome to the website!

It's very cool. There are people reading this now from all around country and different parts of the world. But, here in New York City, the holiday season has begun and the countdown to a new year is on.

I am not a religious man by any definition of the word. But, I actually love this time of year around this town. (I always dig livin' in a town with such a huge set of balls.)

Seriously, it's fun taking in all the lights and decorations between now and the end of the year.

Y'know, I'm also not a fan of New Year's Eve celebrations. (I mean, midnight on December 31st at the bottom of the ocean or in the middle of a forest, it's business as usual.) But, I do like the idea of glancing back (not staring) at the year that's gone by. And, I love looking ahead to a new, mysterious lap around the Sun with renewed hope and excitement. I love the idea of starting over. I sometimes start an entire day over... about 5 times a day.

But, in my life for the past 7 years or so, I also love getting together in a great music hall with all of you for our annual "Year-End Concert". The concert at Merkin Concert Hall has become a great tradition for me and so many people from "The Hill" in Central Park.

THIS YEAR... the concert is on a Saturday night, which is very cool. You guys can make a night of it. Y'know, meet a few friends for that holiday dinner or drink before the show. Maybe go out after the gig. It's always a really good time.

It's two weeks from this Saturday night... December 17th at 8 pm. And, you can get tickets right now if you want. Just call the box office:

212-501-3330

Or, click on that thing over there on the right and get 'em online.

I'm thinkin', I'm gonna have so many really fun and gifted people in the audience, that I'll probably make it a night of calling people up on stage to have a little fun with me. We'll get that "It's just us" feeling goin'! Seriously, if you've ever been to on of these you know what I'm talkin' about.

I'm gonna leave the politics at the door for this one night, so that we can all have a real, simple "feel-good" night. I think we all need it. I know I do. look at the state of this country and te world in the past 5 years and I think you'll want a break, too. We'll just have some fun. Okay?

Listen, if you're new here take a few minutes to hit the "Archive" button and see what's been goin' on. You can download fun songs like "A different Cowboys Lament" and "JesusLand" for FREE. MY recent cartoons are there for you to click on and print out. There's all kindsa Photoshop things in there somewwhere. Have some fun.

Oh hey... but listen. If you are one of those people who actually defends the practice of buying Iraqi journalists and spending 100 million dollars to plant stories... if you actually defend the concept of a pre-emptive war, or if you feel that your religion has any place in government... then, you probably voted for George W. Bush. (And therefore, you don't have a nodding aquaintance with the principles this country is supposed to be all about.)

Wake up.

It's not too late. As John Lennon wrote:

"I hope someday you will join us.
And, the world will live as one."

Hey... maybe we'll do John's "Happy Christmas" at Merkin Hall in 2 weeks!

Okay... I gotta get to work.

Hey listen, if you see me out on the streets of Manhattan today, gimme a big shout, okay?

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
