Feelin' a little bit ornery today. Think I might just call up the customer service numbers on the side of some random box of stuff... like Q-Tips.
Yeah, I'll just call the customer service person and ask, "Should I gently swab the outter ear? Or, can I use this on the inside of the ear canal?"
When they say, "No. There is a plain warning on the box that says that could be dangerous."
Then I'll tell 'em, "Yeah? Well, I'm gonna do it anyway!!!"
And, hang up.
(It's all right. Just losing my mind.)
Actually, y'know... maybe I'll try to get a little headstart on 2006. My friends and I who are putting together the Voices Together Concert had planned to focus exclusively on publicity for the gig as of Janaury 1. But, we're all trying to get a jump on it today. There's sooooo much to do.
Y'know, for me, what one of the really cool things is?
Nearly all of the people who are helping out this concert... with ideas, money and lending their talents to this effort, are people I have been lucky enough to meet since I became "That Guitar Man from Central Park". Just another one of the innumerable gifts from being at the center of that really cool New York thing.

Oh listen... Hey! Thanks for stopping by today. There are people hitting this site from different parts of the country and around the other side of the world. But if you live in the New York City area, (Or plan to be in town at the end of January) we really need you to spread the word and then show up for the Voices Together Concert. More on that in a minute.
First, if you were at the "Year End Holiday Concert" last week at Merkin Concert Hall, here's a little gift. It's a water-color-effect version of the group singing John Lennon's "Happy Christmas/War is Over". If you click on the image, you'll get the full size version to print out, okay?

I've also been getting requests for some of the political cartoons I've done recently. So, go to this update, scroll down a ways, and you can download the 4 most recent ones. I'm gonna have a new one soon, probably about the absurd media reaction to the grossly illegal wiretapping George W. Bush has authorized. (We are most definitely living in bizzarro-world. In many ways, this country is becoming unrecognizable from what it was intended to be.)
Thanks, Georgie.
Okay, nevermind that... person. Let's get back to helping people who need help... today... right now.
Y'know, I have fun here on this website. And, I try my best to mix a smile in with the Truth... to keep from either raging or shutting down completely. Sometimes, I try my best to put it in a song. That's my job. But for the civilians in Iraq, the situation is as serious as a damned heart attack.
Well, it's a war.
.
.
Remember the purpose of this benefit concert is to help the innocent Iraqi civilians, ordinary people like you and me... especially the children, who's lives are being devastated by the war raging in their part of the world. No governments. No politics. No bullshit. We found people who can bypass all the crap and get direct, very real and practical help to people... to really make a difference for the better. The thrust of the whole idea is...
Ordinary people... helping ordinary people.
That's you and me.
We need you.
Y'know what?
Click on this logo and visit the Voices website, okay?

You can buy tickets right this minute if you want.
I'm pushing some of my friends and acquaintances pretty hard to get a couple of reallly special guests for this concert. Keep checking back here every day, okay? I'll let you know when they come through.
Here's the musical lineup so far.
(And, we're not done yet!)
Christine Lavin
Roger Bartlett
George Wurzbach, Dave Buskin, Rob Carlson (aka Modern Man)
Karlus Trapp
Sam Leopold
And... I'm gonna be sharing the stage with them, too.
You can get tickets, right now... today... at the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.
We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:
Get VIP Tickets
The VIP section will get all kinds of stuff, and the artists will all hang out at a reception after the gig.
Yeah... I'm hangin' out after the show with Christine and Roger and Sam and George and Karl and everyone. The reception is in the Thalia Cafe, right inside the Symphony Space complex.
Okay, that's it from me today.
Gotta get to work!
Um... would you do me a HUGE favor and pass this website on to few more people today. Tell some of your friends to visit the Voices site and get involved, okay?
I'll be back soon with a new cartoon.
And, if you feel like emailing me about anything at all, just click on the "Contact" button over there. I can't possibly answer all the mail I get. But, I promise I eventually read every single one.
Thanks again.
