Yeah... here in New York, the cold weather is back. But, it's supposed to be cold at this time of year. Rockefeller Center tree is lit. Things are cool here in town. It's the "When-Harry-Met-Sally-Time-of-Year".

Still, I miss being able to head out to Central Park for our weekly outdoor concerts.

But... y'know, I stopped by Merkin Concert Hall yesterday evening to check out how the tickets sales are going for my annual "Year-End Concert" on December 17th. About half the house is sold already!

The good news is that Merkin is such an intimate space, that there isn't a bad seat in the house. Even the balcony is right on top of the stage, and the acoustics are amazing throughout the hall.

So, if you haven't called your friends yet and made plans, try to do it soon, okay? It's on a SATURDAY NIGHT this year!

In fact... you can call the box office right now. Well, it's open today until 7:00.

212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

Really looking forward to seeing all the same faces from the summer. I've played that room over 10 times, and every year we have a blast. This year we lowered the price again to $20 for ALL seats.

I've learned there is even an outside chance that my old pal and partner "Dodger" Bartlett will be coming through town on that weekend. If he does... we're all in for an unexpected treat!

Regardless, I'm getting some really fun ideas about this gig. We'll make it up as we go along as always. But, I've got a few cool things cookin' in the back of my mind. Might also have a few really fun special guests in the audience.

This year I think I'm gonna take a look at all the songlists you guys have been sending in with suggestions for a "Best of..." album in the spring. Then, besides the usual fun shit we do around the holidays, I'll have an idea what you wanna hear and sing.

Y'know, I've said this recently. I'll probably stay away from some of the more socially conscious songs for this gig and just make it a "feel-good" night. We could all use it, I'm sure. But, once in a while I get an email or two from someone who truly "doesn't get it". Believe me... I completely and joyfully dismiss their advice quicker than you can say, "John Lennon".

Like this one guy... a Bush supporter who wrote, "...thank you for mentioning that you are going to keep this night politics free. I think that is best."

Cracked me up! Like, if you're someone who supports this war or disgraceful administration, I could possibly care what you think is best! (Makes me smile.)

Anyway... (sigh) if any of you wanna go back and download any of the political cartoons I've done in the past few weeks, they're all still here on the website somewhere. You just hafta click on that "Archive" button over there and go get 'em. (The FREE downloads of the songs "JesusLand" and "A different Cowboy's Lament" are also still available for you to listen to and pass around to all your friends.

Um... okay. Gotta get to work. Got a lot of cool things to do today.

But listen, there are a lot of people hitting this website these days from different parts of the country and around the world. If you ever wanna email me for any reason at all, (Even to tell me how wrong I am about things!) ...just click on that "Contact" button over there, okay?

Okay, talk to you later.

Get those tickets soon!!!

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
