And... we're back.

Welcome to the website. Thanks for stopping by today.

Really.

Y'know, there are people visiting this site from all around the planet these days. Wherever you are, I hope this day finds you happy, enthusiastic about something....and paying attention.

Here in New York City, temperature-wise, it was up in the 50s yesterday. Except for the rain, it almost felt like a Central Park day at the end of December. Very strange.

"The Hill" in Central Park... our patch of grass

Oh, listen... NO SGA SONGWRITERS CIRCLE tonight at the Red Lion.

Okay?

(Not sure exactly why. I'll let you know when the next one's gonna happen.)

If you didn't make it to the concert last weekend at Merkin Concert Hall here in New York, the webmaster of this site, James Marino, is making some audio clips available for you guys... over there on the right. (The gig was a blast.) The quality of the recording is kinda shaky. But, we just went through the mixing board in the house so that we could share a little bit of the fun with those of you who couldn't make it.

Go click on the titles, download 'em all and make your own Podcast. It really was a helluva night.

Calling Dodger in Vegas from the stage.

I had a great time.

But, y'know? That was last week. Moving on.

I have another concert coming up. January 28th, at Symphony Space on Broadway.

But, I'm not doing it alone. Far, far from it. I will be sharing the stage with some amazing people. Really, wonderful artists. (And,the lineup isn't frozen, yet!)

The concert is called...

(You can click on the logo and visit the VOICES TOGETHER WEBSITE!)

Y'see, that's what I mean about paying attention.

Hey, I know... I understand. While we're all celebrating holidays here at home... it's so, so easy to forget that there is a very real war raging right on the other side of our planet. Did you know that this month, since December 1, another 55 American men and women have been killed in the fighting in Iraq? 2,168 since the US invasion.

But, are you truly aware that by far... by far the overwhelming number of deaths and injuries are being inflicted on ordinary people like you and me... even thousands of children? The civilian popualtion of that part of the world is taking the brunt of the violence.

Just this month, while 55 American families have lost someone forever, at least 429 more Iraqi people have died.... hundreds and hundreds more horribly injured.... hundreds of thousands since the fighting began. These are not gun shots woulds and broken bones these people are suffering. They are, for the most part, horrific bomb blasts.

.

So, what d'ya say!?

You wanna help!?

My friends and I decided to put a concert on it's feet and the theme of it is...

Ordinary people... helping ordinary people.

No governments. No politics. No agenda... other than to make a differnce in the lives of some fellow human beings who really need help right now.... today.

Therefore, the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT!

I'm telling you, it's gonna be a night that you will definitely wanna be a part of. And, here's the thing... I know a lot of Americans have had it up to here with celebrity benefits and huge charitable organizations! The Voices Together Group is made up of a small number of ordinary people... me, a few good friends, and a few wonderful caring artists who have agreed to share a stage with me for a night. And every nickel of the proceeds from this concert, all of it , is going to directly make a differnce in someone's life.

I'm working on a song right now as a matter of fact. And, the thrust of the thing is this.

My hope is that we're growing up,
The time has come for knowing
The answer is showing up
When winds of war are blowing
But "fire with fire"... just makes more fire
Push always comes to shove,
The antidote to hate and fear
Is Love

Listen... this is gonna be a night of smiles, purpose, laughter, some tears. But, mostly it's gonna be a night of really incredible music... and Love.

Here's the lineup so far. (And, we're not done yet!)

Christine Lavin
Roger Bartlett
George Wurzbach, Dave Buskin, Rob Carlson (aka Modern Man)
Karlus Trapp
Sam Leopold
And... I'm gonna be sharing the stage with them, too.

You can get tickets, right now... today... at the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of stuff, and the artists will all hang out at a reception after the gig.

Yeah... I'm hangin' out after the show with Christine and Roger and Sam and George and Karl and everyone. The reception is in the Thalia Cafe, right inside the Symphony Space complex.

Also, very cool.

So, get on it, okay?

I'll... I'll talk to you later.

Oh, hey! If you have any ideas about how we can spread the word about this effort, please don't hesitate to conctact us here at the website.

Actually, you can always email me about anything that's on yoiur mind. I get soooooo many emails that I can't possibly answer then all personally. But, I promise I eventually read every single one.

Hope you wanna help. Start rounding up some friends and plan on supporting the Voices Together Concert on January 28th... big time.

Okay?

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
