Welcome to the site! I'm giving away FREE downloads for two songs again today! (Further down the page.)

But, where in the world do you live!?

I don't know. But, here in New York City, man! It's a beautiful day. A little breezy and there that first real bite of autumn in the air. But, the sunny side of the street is still happenin'.

I've got a feelin' I'm gonna head out to Central Park for a few hours tomorrow (Saturday) and maybe even again on Sunday. We'll watch the thermometer and see how it goes. Squeezing in one or two more outdoor concerts wouldn't suck.

"The Hill" in Central Park"

Like I've been saying though, just because the "outdoor" season is coming to a close, that doesn't mean goodbye. We've got a whole lotta really wonderful things coming up over the winter. The first BIG event is the annual "Year-End Holiday Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. This year, it's on a Saturday night, December 17th. Try to get your tickets sooner than later. It's a great way to send the year out the door. And, this year... I have a feeling we could all use a night to just kick back, forget about alot of the mess in the world today, sing together, share a few stories and a whole bunch of music. If you've ever been to one of these things, you know what it feels like. So, call the box office soon, okay?

Box office: 212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

Seriously... try to get tickets this week. The gig is only 6 weeks away and there's only 450 seats in Merkin. (We've sold it out several times in the past.) And, the tickets are back down to $20 for all seats. So, the box office to make sure you get the seats you want, okay? Like I said, it's only about 6 weeks away.

Merkin Hall in December

So, what's happenin' today?

Well, I'm NOT a country artist in any way. But, I'm getting alot of great email from people all across the country and in different parts of the world about the two songs I'm giving away. (Damn! Maybe I should become a country artist.)

Nah.

No, I did these two songs in that genre... one to make a point, and the other to hold up the joke. And, people seem to really dig both songs. (Or... hmmm... maybe they just like that they're FREE, Einstein!)

Anyway, for the new Cowboy song, click on the photo that fellow guitarist David Goldman sent in of me singin' it at Birdland last Monday.

"A different COWBOYS LAMENT"

And, for "JesusLand", click on this link that says...

Satire is Protected Speech (Even from those who don't get it!)

Have fun with them! Pass them around! They're free! Seriously. These songs are making the rounds on the internet. I'm getting wonderful email about 'em from all across the country and even in Europe.

Kinda cool.

By the way, out of the hundreds of emails I've received about "JesusLand" there are a few unfortunately obtuse people who don't "get" the song. The song is about hypocrisy and the modern day pharisee. For those people I have two words...

Pat Robertson.

This Christian leader... this man of Jesus did it again. Besides calling for the assassination of a foreign leader a while back, the other day when the Dover Pennsylvania school board decided that intelligent design should best be taught in religion class instead of a science class, he had this to say on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club.".

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city."

Well, I hafta ask... when are they just gonna throw a net over this guy.

Ha! And, people have a problem with my lyrics.

(sigh)

Well, listen... not much else goin' on today. I have an awful lot of work to do to get the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT on it's feet for January. It's turned into a full-time job. Hey listen, if you'd like to know more about this concert we're doing to get help to the innocent, ordinary people in Iraq whose lives are being torn apart in the violence since the US invasion, click on this logo and find out all about it okay?

Find out how you can help, too... besides just buying tickets and showing up for this incredible night.

That's about it for today.

Just wanna leave you with this, today.

I'd be funny if it wasn't so sad and disgusting.

Oh well... onward through the fog.

See you soon.

Thanks

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
