Hey, welcome to the website.

Looking at the stats I see that again, there are an awful lotta new people stopping by here from all across the country and in different parts of the world.

Very cool.

Hope you guys take a couple of minutes to look around, browse the "Archives". See what's been goin' on around here.

If you live in the New York City area, keep your fingers crossed for the weather this weekend. We just might be able to squeak another afternoon of music in at "The Hill" in Central Park. We'll see.

"The Hill" in Central Park"

Yeah... I went to sit in at Jim Caruso's "Cast Party" again last night. This thing is one of those genuine New York City Secrets I'm always talkin' about. Seriously. What a good, good time. As Jim says... a lot... "Some of the most talented people, the finest singers, and the best songwriters in the world are on that stage... also, other people."

It's really very cool. And, a few days ago Jim emailed me and asked me to show up this week with the new song I wrote specifically for his show at Birdland last week. The tune is tentatively called "A different COWBOY'S LAMENT". So, I went and did it last night. I'm probably gonna wind up doing at Merkin Hall on December 17th. I think you guys will get a kick out of it, too. Again, what a great time last night. My friend Ray Jessel did a new song o his... tentatively called, "What She's Got". Singer/songwqriter Christine Lavin... um... twirled her batons again. (I know she kinda does it as a goof on the world, but damn! The woman is really great with those things!!!) The whole night was a typical "Cast Party". These things are such a mix of styles and talents that it's an absolute blast every week. Maybe tomorrow, I'll make the rough demo of my new song available for you guys to download and hear for free.

So listen, we've got a lot of really cool things comin' up over the winter. So bookmark this page, or make it one of your "favorites", or whatever... and, stop back on a regular basis. I think I'm gonna try to do somethin' every week.

Y'know the tickets are already on sale for the first "indoor" concert of the season I was just talkin' about. It's the annual "Year-End Holiday Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. It's on Saturday night, December 17th this year. (That's only about 6 weeks away. Can you believe it?) I always look forward to that gig. The room is always filled with that "It's Just Us" feeling... a whole lot like "The Hill" in Central Park. This year, I think I'm gonna do something a little more intimate than in other years. Y'know, for the past few years we've had the whole band sit in on these things. But, this year, I think we'll scale it down and tell some stories and do a little more singing together... maybe a couple of guest artists that you guys'll really dig.

If you've ever been to one of these concerts, you know it's a great way to send the year out the door. And, the tickets are back down to $20. So, start calling a bunch of friends and then call the box office to make sure you get the seats you want, okay? Like I said, it's only about 6 weeks away. (And, we've sold it out several times in the past.)

Box office: 212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

Oh, just a thought. Out of a really bizarre, but enlightening, email exchange I recently had with some guy who thinks I shouldn't play a particular song of mine, lest it make him uncomfortable, I was inspired to post a new little piece of artwork... well, kind of artwork... a little photoshop thing.

I call it...

"Oh, David... forget about art, freedom and integrity. Just make him happy."

Oh... but, please visit the VOICES TOGETHER website today and find out about this extremely worthwhile event to help the civilians, especially the children, whose lives are being torn apart by the war in Iraq. It'll be at Symphony Space early next year. Find out how you can help... even how you can be a real part of making the concert happen. Just click on this logo...

Actually, you can get tickets for this event right now, too... today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

BUT! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

To find out more about the reason for this concert, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. Then click here to find out more about LIFE... two great groups of people who are helping the injured civilians in this nightmare fo a war in Iraq.

Thanks for everything.

Maybe I'll see you this weekend.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
