Welcome to the website...

A whole bunch of new people on the mailing list. More people starting to hit this site from different parts of the country and around the world. I got a few great emails from overseas yesterday... London and Germany and France. People who were out in Central Park over the past several weekends. It's very cool. Man! The internet is making the world a smaller and more intimate place.

Yeah, yeah... there are those who say the world is getting smaller and that makes it a very dangerous place.

Well, I don't live that way. And, I'm loving this life. I love the adventure of trying to find that place of Love, reason, honesty, and fun in every moment... rather than a place of fear. Seeking to find my music in the same place.

Givin' up is the only crime.
And, worry is just a waste of time.
Let it take you
And, it'll shake you
And, then make you miss all the Love
That's around..... you.

(From "Relax, It's Only Life")

I love getting email. 99% of it is always from fun, music-loving, open-minded, beautiful people. But, the other one percent is cool, too. I learn so much about human nature and... y'know? It's kinda interesting for an artist and writer like myself to actually experience the thought processes of people who I might be sitting next to on the subway, or with whom I'm sharing an afternoon in Central Park, but would never get to experience what they're thinking or feeling.

Fascinating sometimes. It really is.

Anyway... moving on. I wanted to have a little fun today.

I recently stared noticing things about people in Congress. Everyday it appears to me that they all have look-alikes.

I mean, with Trent Lott... maybe it's just the hair.

.

And, for the film buffs or older readers out there... do you guys remember a comic actor naamed Joe E. Brown. (He was in the classic film "Some Like It Hot". Bill Frist has always reminded me of him... just not as funny. And, I don't think Brown was ever investigated for insider trading.)

.

And I'm sorry, but I swear... if Senator Harry Reid was in drag, he would look exactly like Mrs. Landingham from The West Wing. (In fact, I have never seen the two of them together.) Glad he finally stood up on his hind legs and started demanding the Truth about the war in Iraq. But, just the same...

.

Thought I'd share that with you.

Hey, been getting quite a few requests for this song... from all over the country, and even in Europe. I understand one station's been airing it on the BBC. So, I'm giving it away for free.

Pass it around to everyone you know if you want. People are starting to write in and tell me how much they dig it. (But, remember... in America, satire is protected speech... even from those who don't get it!)

Okay... now this weekend, the NYC Marathon is being run in Central Park. So, "The Hill" is pretty much off-limits both days. Check back here before then, though. Maybe we'll head over to Riverside Park, to the "Storyteller's Hill" for a few hours on Saturday.

But, if the "outdoor" season is over, remember that in just over 6 weeks we'll be getting together "indoors" for the annual "Year-End Holiday Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. Clcik here for the update with all the information on how to get your tickets this week! (The price of the tickets for all seats is baack down to $20.)

Update about the "Year-End" Concert!

And, then in January we'll be getting together again for a very, very special evening. The...

As I do every day now, I just wanna tell all the newcomers to this site about this concert that we're doing' at Symphony Space here in New York City on January 28th.... what we're doing and why we're doing it. (Click on that logo right there to visit the Voices Website, okay?)

We... my friends and I... a bunch of ordinary people, refuse to ignore the carnage that is ravaging the Iraqi people... today... now... since the U.S. invasion. The ordinary people.. the civilians, especially the children.

We found a remarkable group of people with an organization called LIFE, who have people on the ground in Iraq... really getting desperately needed help those who need it most. And, there is a woman we've found named Elissa Montanti, an otherwise ordinary New York woman, who has made 4 trips into Iraq to get people and bring them here to the States for the medical help they cannot get in that war-torn part of the world. She is an angel... a true hero. We want to help her do the work she has chosen to do in any way we can. Therefore, VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

She has done amazing things already for so many... but, everyday there is much, much more to do.

And... she's goin' again.

.
Dalal lost her leg in the fighting . . . . . . . . . . . Dalal sowing off her new leg with Elissa

But, there is soooo much more to do. Please help us... help Elissa... help them.

.

You can get tickets for this event right now, today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

BUT! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

To find out more about the reason for this concert, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. Then click here to find out more about LIFE... two great groups of people who are helping the injured civilians in this nightmare fo a war in Iraq.

Thanks for everything.

Hope I see you soon.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
