Well, it's a rainy, dreary day here in New York City. Yeah, I know there are people reading this in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But, here in New York it's finally feeling like autumn. Maybe even a few snow flurries before the end of the week. We'll see.

By the way, if you feel like it you can go back through the "Archives" and grab the free downloads of some of the new songs and send them around to your friends. Everything is still here somewhere on this site.

Um, listen though... before anything else. Before you go away for the weekend... or before you leave work early this week. Call your friends and make plans right now, then call the box office and get your tickets for the annual gig at Merkin Concert Hall. The "Year-end Holiday Concert" is on a Saturday Night this year! And, we lowered the price to give everybody a break. (ALL seats are only $20 this year.) And, there isn't a bad seat in the house, 'cause there are only 450 seats in the whole theater!

If you've ever been to one of these things, you know what kind of a fun way it is to end the year with all the same faces you see on "The Hill" in Central Park. And, if you've got nothin' else goin' on, it's also really cool to come to one of these by yourself. Lotsa people do.

It's just us.

Anyway, hope to see you there. You can call the box office today...

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

Or, get tickets "online" by clicking on that thing over there on the right!

Anyway... hey! Last night!

I went down to Birdland again to sit in on Jim Caruso's "Cast Party".

I never really have an idea what song I'm gonna pull outta my hat when I get there, and last night was no exception. So at the last minute, I decided to go with my gut and play "JesusLand". What a blast. It's sooooo cool to play a song like that for a new audience and know that they really "get it". But, then a little later both Jim and the owner of the place, a guy named Johnny Valenti, asked if I would do the song I wrote specifically for "Cast Party" and Birdland a few weeks ago. ("A different Cowboy's Lament") So... did that one, too.

Feels good to know that you're doing exactly what you're meant to be doing. Last night was one of those gigs. And the host, Jim Caruso, and I talked a little bit about the "zone" you can get in when things are right. He gets it. We spoke about the zone and... yeah, he gets it.

Anyway, thinkin' that it would be really cool to do a tune with Jim... maybe "Crazy on the Same Day". We'll see. Be kinda cool. Jim's crazy alot of the time... and, you all know that I'm crazy alot of the time. We're all crazy at times... just not on the same day. So, the song seems to work.

Oh, speakin' of Caruso... he's got a thing comin' up at Tower Records here in town a week from Wednesday. I'm probably gonna stop over there. I'll let you know when it gets closer. Here... click on the photo for info.

I was hangin' out most of the night with singer/songwriter Christine Lavin, who is not only a genuinely beautiful and funny woman, but a really, really clever and talented songwriter. She did a tune last night about an experience "Waiting for the B Train" that was hysterical... and true. (Damn! I love this town.)

Anyway, she's also got a new album out called "Folk Zinger". You guys oughta check it out. (Click on the Photo.)

Well, that's about it for today. I'll be back tomorrow with a new original cartoon and a George W. Bush Quiz!!! If you're new here, take a few minutes to go back through the "Archives" and check out some of the fun stuff from recent weeks.

Here are some of my more recent cartoons. (Click on the image for a larger version.)

"Damned Scooter!" - "Wheels Came Off" - "Who Knew Pants Really Catch Fire!?"

. . . .

And, stop by the VOICES TOGETHER website to find out about the big benefit concert we're doing in January, okay? Click on the logo.

Find out about this concert that we're doing' at Symphony Space here in New York City on January 28th.... what we're doing and why we're doing it.

We... my friends and I... a bunch of ordinary people, refuse to ignore the carnage that is ravaging the Iraqi people... today... now... since the U.S. invasion. The ordinary people.. the civilians, especially the children.

.

See you later.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
