Hey... thanks for stopping by the website today.

What a very cool and interesting week it's been so far. Oh, hey listen... right now the weather's not lookin' so great for an outdoor concert in Central Park this weekend. But keep checking back, okay?

This time of year, I always figure every single afternoon out there to be a real bonus. But, we're always one or two rainouts away from the end of another season. That's cool, though. Got a lotta really cool things comin' up over the winter here in New York City... maybe elsewhere.

But, thanks for another amazing year. I always say, I'm the luckiest man alive. Nobody knows about the music and laughs we share all summer in Central Park... except the few hundred thousand people that know about it.

Gonna tell you guys about the VOICES TOGETHER Concert in a little bit. But, first...

Y'know, the tickets are already on sale for the annual "Year-End Holiday Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall on December 17th. You can call the Merkin Hall box office today as a matter of fact. I know it's early. But, if you feel like getting the seats you want, call soon okay?

212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

Anyway, today... HEY! GREAT NEWS!

I GOT INVITED TO DO AN INTERVIEW AT THE WHITE HOUSE!!!

(The bad news is... I only have a couple of days to memorize my lines.)

.

.

.

Gotta say, I've been dumbfounded by the people in this country who don't see right through the most complete phony who's occupied the Oval Office in my lifetime. I mean, we've had some doozies. But, this rich frat-boy is in a league of his own. In a way, I actually feel sorry for those people who don't get it. I think it's entirely possible that some good people want so desperately to believe that a self-serving idiot couldn't become president that the armor of their denial gets very, very thick. It's admirable in a way... but, kinda sad. I just can't come up with another "kind" explanation.

Anyway... George is not invited to the VOICES TOGETHER Concert. (Or, my "Holiday" concert either.)

Why are we doing this concert?

Because a war is a war. And, I get the feeling that people in this country have become so desensitized to misery and suffering in the form of statistics, that the reality of the civilian casualties in this war has eluded many.

Question...

How many Iraqi civilians, ordinary people like you and me, have been killed in the first 19 days of this month alone... before the huge lock-down and curfew?

Over 200

And, there are reports that as many as 30 more civilians were killed by direct American military action this week. Did you know that at least 1,524 innocent people were killed in the violence in the month of August alone!?

Hundreds and hundreds more horribly injured. Hundreds of thousands since the U.S. invasion... many, many of them children.

We, the ordinary people of this world, are going to help them. Because almost nobody else is.

Sadaam Hussein is on trial... woo-hoo! Another great reason for the news media to ignore the carnage that is ravaging the Iraqi people... today... now... since the U.S. invasion.

Well, there is a woman names Elissa Montanti, an otherwise ordinary New York woman, who has made 4 trips into Iraq to get people and bring them here to the States for the medical help they cannot get in that war-torn part of the world. She is an angel... a true hero. We want to help her do the work she has chosen to do in any way we can. Therefore, VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

She has done amazing things already for so many... but, everyday there is much, much more to do.

And... she's goin' again.

.
Dalal lost her leg in the fighting . . . . . . . . . . . Dalal sowing off her new leg with Elissa

But, there is soooo much more to do. Please help us... help Elissa... help them.

You can get tickets for this event right now, today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

BUT! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

Hey, to find out more about Elissa Montanti and the work she's doing, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. She's the main reason we started the whole thing.

And, oh... listen! If you're new here! Why don't you register in the new "Forum" (message board) while it's still there and jump in there to hang out with people from all over!

But, be cool, okay?

Thanks for everything.

Hope I see you soon.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
