Hmmmm...

Keep your eyes on the sky and the thermometer this weekend. I have a feeling we might just get a beautiful day for an afternoon of music in Central Park on Sunday.

But, listen... if I don't see you in the park this weekend, I'm gonna be sitting in at a great songwriter's circle in The Village on Monday night. The SGA Songwriters Circle at the Red Lion. And... it's free! So, check back in a couple of days for directions and all that.

Hey listen... today, I'd really love it if you visited the VOICES TOGETHER website. hope today or this weekend, you can either buy a couple of tickets or help us out with a little donation for the production effort. Here, click on this logo...

As I do every day now, I will tell all the newcomers about this concert that we're doing' at Symphony Space here in New York City on January 28th.... what we're doing and why we're doing it... a little further down the page.

So, what's up for today?

Well, y'know, yesterday I wrote that I had done a little research into Harriet Mier's past. Came up with some interesting quotes. (You can hit the "Archive" button for those.) But, I did a little more research today. I mean, everyone is aware that the relationship between George W. Bush and "Harry" goes way back. They are very close, both born-again Christians, she thinks he's "cool" (Go figure that one!) Yet, Bush claims they have never discussed the issue of Roe v. Wade.

Yeah... uh-huh.

But, I don't think many people are aware of the depth of their relationship and how far they go back.

Just found this photo kinda interesting. (I had no idea the oil man could even play the guitar.)

Oh, hey... y'know, the tickets are already on sale for the annual "Year-End Holiday Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall on December 17th. You can call the Merkin Hall box office today as a matter of fact. I know it's early. But, if you feel like getting the seats you want, call soon okay?

212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

That's one night of music I always look forward to. A roomful of great people, warm energy, everybody singin'... y'know... "it's just us". It's always a good way to send the year out the door.

Okay now... the VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

Why are we doing this concert?

Because a war is a war. And, I get the feeling that people in this country have become so desensitized to misery and suffering in the form of statistics, that the reality of the civilian casualties in this war has eluded many.

Question...

How many Iraqis, ordinary people like you and me, have been killed in the first 21 days of this month alone?

Over 400

Did you know that at least 1,524 innocent people, civilians, were killed in the violence in the month of August alone!?

Hundreds and hundreds more horribly injured. Hundreds of thousands since the U.S. invasion... many, many of them children.

We, the ordinary people of this world, are going to help them. Because almost nobody else is.

Tom DeLay was arrested. Bill Frist is probably a cheat. Karl Rove, Scooter Libby, and Dick Cheney have no integrity. George W. Bush can't find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight. And, there's another hurricane in the Gulf. All great reasons for the news media to ignore the carnage that is ravaging the Iraqi people... today... now... since the U.S. invasion.

Well, there is a woman names Elissa Montanti, an otherwise ordinary New York woman, who has made 4 trips into Iraq to get people and bring them here to the States for the medical help they cannot get in that war-torn part of the world. She is an angel... a true hero. We want to help her do the work she has chosen to do in any way we can. Therefore, VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

She has done amazing things already for so many... but, everyday there is much, much more to do.

And... she's goin' again.

.
Dalal lost her leg in the fighting . . . . . . . . . . . Dalal sowing off her new leg with Elissa

But, there is soooo much more to do. Please help us... help Elissa... help them.

You can get tickets for this event right now, today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

BUT! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

Hey, to find out more about Elissa Montanti and the work she's doing, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. She's the main reason we started the whole thing.

And, oh... listen! If you're new here! Why don't you register in the new "Forum" (message board) while it's still there and jump in there to hang out with people from all over!

But, be cool, okay?

Thanks for everything.

Hope I see you soon.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
