Sunday is lookin' like it might be a day to get out to Central Park for an afternoon of hangin' togther with some music. Check back here and we'll see okay. It would be very cool to get out there one mo' time.

Y'think?

I'm a lucky, lucky man.

"Crazy on the Same Day", "People on the Hill", "Talk Louder", "Relax, It's Only Life"... maybe we'll get to sing them together one more day before the outdoor season ends.

But, please bookmark this page and stop back often. Because we're gonna be doin' alotta cool stuff this winter. (More about all that in a minute.)

If you're new here... make a point of hitting the "Archive" button and browsing through a bunch of recent updates, okay? Give you an idea of what we've been up to around here.

Hey listen... I don't care about 24 hours news cycles! If you want the real story about George W. Bush's next choice for the Supreme Court Justice, here it is.

Here at "ThatGuitarMan.com" we've learned that, in keeping with his modus operandi of rewarding loyalty, Bush has picked a nominee who has been extremely loyal throughout his first and second terms.

When his name is announced, Barney will make history by being the first Scottish Terrier to nominated for the high court. Sources at the White house say that Bush wanted to pick someone who was not only loyal, but also his intellectual peer.

The confirmation process in the Senate might prove to be interesting and difficult for Barney because, like Harriet Miers, he doesn't have a "paper trail" to speak of. But unlike Miers, he has in fact been "paper trained". And while very few know where Barney stands on most issues... (It's widely believed he usually stands on four legs... or sits.. or rolls over on most issues.) .. nearly all the senators on both sides of the aisle are willing to admit that he's "cute".

Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) admitted, "It is going to be very hard to vote against this nomination. How do you vote against man's best friend?"

However, when asked directly how he felt about overturning Roe v Wade, the nominee simply licked himself and left the room.

Anyway, it's always good to know that when inside politics is goin' on in Washington, the fighting actually stops in Iraq.

It must.

Because for the last few days, everytime district Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald clears his throat or goes to lunch, or Karl Rove gets in or out of his car (And, there's footage!).... nearly nothing gets reported about the war for at least a day. I take that to be an indication that the people who are fighting on both sides of the war in Iraq are glued to their TV screens, waiting for Wolf Blitzer in his "Situation Room" to tell them who gets indicted... just too fascinated by good "news" television to be blowing each other up.

.

.

Oh, that it were so.

I guess I should probably tell you this. Since Harriet Miers withdrew her nomination yesterday morning... at least 11 more American soldiers have died in Iraq and at least 45 Iraqi civilians and police have been killed in the fighting.

.

.

But, listen... that's not what panics the George W. Bush these days!!!

The staff here at "ThatGuitarMan.com" have uncovered the latest in a series of Homeland Security color-coded charts. (Yeah, they can't seem to give up on 'em.)

Here's the latest.

Okay, this winter... what's goin' on?

Well, first thing. The annual "Year-End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall in December. It's on December 17th this year. And, if you've ever been to one of those, you know it's a great way to send the year out the door. I always look forward to that night. This year is no exception. And, the tickets are back down to $20. So, start calling a bunch of friends and then call the box office to make sure you get the seats you want, okay? It's only about 8 weeks away.

Box office: 212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

The tickets are also on sale for the VOICES TOGETHER concert in January.

As I do every day now, I wanna tell all the newcomers to this site about this concert that we're doing' at Symphony Space here in New York City on January 28th.... what we're doing and why we're doing it. (Click on that logo to visit the Voices Website, okay?)

We... my friends and I... a bunch of ordinary people, refuse to ignore the carnage that is ravaging the Iraqi people... today... now... since the U.S. invasion.

And, there is a woman we've found named Elissa Montanti, an otherwise ordinary New York woman, who has made 4 trips into Iraq to get people and bring them here to the States for the medical help they cannot get in that war-torn part of the world. She is an angel... a true hero. We want to help her do the work she has chosen to do in any way we can. Therefore, VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

She has done amazing things already for so many... but, everyday there is much, much more to do.

And... she's goin' again.

.
Dalal lost her leg in the fighting . . . . . . . . . . . Dalal sowing off her new leg with Elissa

But, there is soooo much more to do. Please help us... help Elissa... help them.

.

You can get tickets for this event right now, today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

BUT! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

Hey, to find out more about Elissa Montanti and the work she's doing, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. She's the main reason we started the whole thing.

Thanks for everything.

Hope I see you soon.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
