Man! Y'know, over the course of the season I always say, "I love it when the weather is perfect... sunnny, warm. I definitely know where I'm suppose to be... out in the Central Park for another afternoon of music". Rainouts are inevitable, though. The days that really drive me nuts... and I say this all the time... are the days where the weather doesn't quite know what it wants to do. Y'know? Those days when it's drizzling, the sun comes out, then rain threatens again, then the sun comes out. Those are the days that drive me nuts. Outdoor concert? Should I call it a rainout?
No question this weekend, hah!?
But, I have a feeling we'll get a few more great weekends of music out there in the park. Maybe next weekend.

Man! Listen, I know there are a lot of people reading this across the country and in different parts of the world. But, yeah... it's a rainout, here in New York.
The Yankees got rained out yesterday. It rained so long and so hard that I'm wondering what kinda shape the field at Yankee Stadium is gonna be in for the game tonight. The grounds crew must be underwater.

LET'S GO YANKEES!
Hey guys... Today I wanna tell you about the email situation we find ourselves in these days.
Y'know, I've always felt really good about the fact that here at thatguitarman.com we have the purest email list one can have. We don't buy lists. We don't steal addresses from other sources. I know how maddening it is to get spammed everyday. So, every single one of the thousands of people on our list have physically signed up with a pen and a piece of paper at one of the gigs... or, signed on through the website.
But, the bad guys have ruined it for everyone. Like everyone else, I hate unwanted emails. (I don't want a Rolex, I dig my cheap Timex. And, my penis is just fine, thanks.) Spam filters are now stopping a large number of you from getting the messages I send out to let you all know what's goin' on. We are the dolphins getting caught in the tuna nets, so to speak. And, over the winter we do a lot of really cool stuff. And, this winter we're doing something really important and fun with the VOICES TOGETHER Concert on January 28th.
So in the next few weeks, I'm gonna try to sit down at my computer and hack through a few thousand email addresses and ask you all personally to check in here at the website a few times a week, and to help with VOICES TOGETHER any way you can.
You can click on this logo...

...to get to the VOICES website.
We're still looking for a few angels to donate money to the Fractured Atlas 501(c)(3) account to help us with the production of the conccert. (Everyone who donated there will be listed on the Voices website as a "producer" of the gig... and also in the program that evening. Every nickel of your donation is tax-deductible.) Be really cool if we could find one or two people or a company to donate a few thousand dollars. Still, any donation will help.
But... if that's not your bag, you can make a donation by buying tickets. That's tax-deductible, too! Because ALL of the proceeds are going to Global Medical Relief Fund and Life USA. You can get tickets, right now... today... on a rainy Sunday... at the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.
Okay, okay... if you're new here you might be asking yourself, "What is the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT?"
There is a war raging in another part of the world. And, as you are sitting in front of your computer reading this, innocent people... civilians, ordinary men and women, children are living through a nightmare.
No matter how you feel about the war in Iraq, politically... I don't really care if you feel it is an affront to basic human decency, or a noble and just cause... it's still a war.
(Me personally? Well, if you've been to my concerts or visited this website, you all know how I feel about it.) But, so much more than that, it is an obscenity that the innocent civilians, especially the children who are being so horribly wounded, are being largely ignored by this country and the world.
They are ordinary people, just like you and me. Their lives are being torn apart every day by the fear and violence in that part of the world... by the civil war that was unleashed as the result of the US invasion.
Look... even if you supported this war for whatever reasons you might have... these children and civilians are still your responsibility... as feeling, thinking, caring human beings. Leave your mind at the door, and listen to your heart. You know what I'm saying is true. If you ever think starting a war is a good thing, the innocents lost in it are "yours" especially.
The people in that wartorn part of the world need help... period.

Therefore, a small group of my friends... a small group of committed individuals, have been working like crazy to put together the VOICES TOGETHER Concert. A growing number of amazing artists are lining up to join me on that stage. It's very cool.
In the meantime, please email me and let me know if you really do want to help out with producing this gig. It's so cool... already, the "People on the Hill"... you guys... have raised over $10,000. Maybe we'll find that one or two angels among us who can afford to give $1,000 or $5,000 or more. IT'S ALL TAX-DEDUCTIBLE so that oughta help!

This is gonna be a very special night, January 28th at the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE here in New York City.
And, it'll feel good to help. And... it'll actually be fun.
Really make a difference for the better in this world, when ordinary people here reach out to help the ordinary people of Iraq. Please help make a very real and direct difference. Don't you think it would be so much harder to hate someone if they were bandaging your child's head? Don't you think we'd create one less enemy if we flew somone's wife or brother to the United States to get medical treatment for that leg that was blown off, or those eyes that were so badly burned? It is just the right thing... no... the Good thing to do. There are children being hurt and horribly injured every day in Iraq with nearly no one to help them. Ordinary people... civilians, every day, whose lives are being torn apart by this war.
They need help... period.
Can you help?
Hope so.
Anyway... okay listen. Maybe I'll stop in and see you in the "Forum" later. I might even update this homepage again a little later.
If you see me out in the streets of Manahattan today... say "Hey".
And, check back here everyday. Pass this link onto a friend or two, okay?
From the bottom of my heart...
..thanks again.
