Okay... missed you guys this weekend.

Really, this time of year it's an adjustment. I'm so used to heading out to Central Park and sharing my music with you every weekend...

I kinda go through withdrawal. But, at the same time, the melancholy is married to a deep, subtle excitement about whatever's comin' up next.

There's alot of really cool stuff comin' up this Fall and Winter. I'm gonna try to do something every week, so keep checking in here at the website.

Like TONIGHT... I'm gonna sit in at the SGA Songwriters Circle.

.
.

THAT'S TONIGHT!!! Plan on bringin' a few friends after work, or come by yourself. It's a really good time. I feel so lucky to be on the same stage with most of these songwriters. And, we laugh as much as we sing most nights.

Anyway... the Red Lion is on the corner of Bleecker Street at Thompson, in the Village. Really easy to get to. Get there a little bit early to get a good seat. The music cranks up at 7:00 and goes until 9. And, like I've said... it's free!

And, quickly... y'know, the annual "Year-End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall in December. It's on December 17th this year. And, if you've ever been to one of those, you know it's a great way to send the year out the door. I always look forward to that night. This year is no exception. And, the tickets are back down to $20. So, start calling a bunch of friends and then call the box office to make sure you get the seats you want, okay? It's only about 8 weeks away.

Box office: 212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

After the "Circle" tonight, hopefully I'm gonna be meeting with Christine Lavin to talk about the VOICES TOGETHER concert in January. But, more on that in a minute. I'll get to the other stuff that's coming up. But, before anything else...

I just received the newest color-coded warning system (Yeah, remember those?) from the Department of Homeland Security. So as a public service, I thought I'd make sure you guys have access to it here at this website. Please tell your friends that they can stop by here for the latest reality checks.

I know there are people reading this in diffrent parts of the country and different parts of the world. So if you're new, feel free to go back through the "Archives" and browse through some recent updates... see what we've been up to around here.

Now, hey! Lighten up! While I make no excuses or apologies for the way I personally feel about the current administration in Washington and this horrific situation they've created in Iraq, that is NOT what the VOICES TOGETHER concert is about. the theme of this effort is...

Ordinary people... helping ordinary people.

This concert is about helping the innocent civilians caught in that nightmare.

And, so...

As I do every day now, I wanna tell all the newcomers about this concert that we're doing' at Symphony Space here in New York City on January 28th.... what we're doing and why we're doing it. (Click on that logo to visit the Voices Website, okay?)

We... my friends and I... a bunch of ordinary people, refuse to ignore the carnage that is ravaging the Iraqi people... today... now... since the U.S. invasion.

And, there is a woman we've found named Elissa Montanti, an otherwise ordinary New York woman, who has made 4 trips into Iraq to get people and bring them here to the States for the medical help they cannot get in that war-torn part of the world. She is an angel... a true hero. We want to help her do the work she has chosen to do in any way we can. Therefore, VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

She has done amazing things already for so many... but, everyday there is much, much more to do.

Here's the lineup of artists who are gonna join me on stage so far.

Christine Lavin
Roger Bartlett (My pal, "Dodger")
Sam Leopold
George Wurzbach

The list is growing. And, we're hoping for some really amazing surprise guests. You can get tickets for this event right now, today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

BUT! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

Hey, to find out more about Elissa Montanti and the work she's doing, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. She's the main reason we started the whole thing.

And, oh... listen! If you're new here! Why don't you register in the new "Forum" (message board) while it's still there and jump in there to hang out with people from all over!

MAKE TODAY A SPECIAL DAY... OKAY?

I'll see you soon.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
