Hey... welcome to the website.

Listen... we just might get a day of music in this weekend. I'm thinkin' it might get above 60 degrees at least one day. So, check back in here and I'll let you know if I'm heading out to Central Park, okay?

Probably gonna hafta wear a shirt and shoes, though.

Anyway, we've got a lot of really cool things comin' up over the winter, too. So bookmark this page, or make it one of your "favorites", or whatever... and, stop back on a regular basis. I think I'm gonna try to do somethin' every week.

Y'know the tickets are already on sale for the first "indoor" concert of the season. It's the annual "Year-End Holiday Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. It's on Saturday night, December 17th this year. (That's only about 8 weeks away. Can you believe it?) I always look forward to that gig. The room is always filled with that "It's Just Us" feeling... a whole lot like "The Hill" in Central Park. This year, I think I'm gonna do something a little more intimate than in other years. Y'know, for the past few years we've had the whole band sit in on these things. But, this year, I think we'll scale it down and tell some stories and do a little more singing together... maybe a couple of guest artists you guys'll really dig.

If you've ever been to one of these concerts, you know it's a great way to send the year out the door. And, the tickets are back down to $20. So, start calling a bunch of friends and then call the box office to make sure you get the seats you want, okay? Like I said, it's only about 8 weeks away. (And, we've sold it out several times in the past.)

Box office: 212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

What else? What's goin' on today?

Q: How many Bush Administration officials does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A: None. There is nothing wrong with the light bulb; its conditions are improving every day. Any reports of it's lack of incandescence are a delusional spin from the liberal media. That light bulb has served honorably, and anything you say undermines the lighting effect. Why do you hate freedom?

.

Well, tomorrow I'll probably have a little something more to write about the wave if investigations raining down on all those good, stand-up Americans down in Washington DC. Y'know... the guys responsible for over 2,000 grieving families here at home, and hundreds of thousands of grieving families over in Iraq.

Gee...

...who coulda seen this comin'?

I know there are people reading this in diffrent parts of the country and different parts of the world. So if you're new, feel free to go back through the "Archives" and browse through some recent updates... see what we've been up to around here. In the recent "Archives" you will fnd the new Homeland Security Chart, more Harriet Miers quotes, a photo of the time George Bush brought his guitar to Central Park... fun stuff.

But, on a more serious note, a bunch of my good friends and colleagues decided we are gonna try to help the situation in Iraq whever we can. Because the vast majority of the people getting hurt and killed in that nightmare over there are the innocent civilians in that part of the world, many of them children.

As I do every day now, I wanna tell all the newcomers about this concert that we're doing' at Symphony Space here in New York City on January 28th.... what we're doing and why we're doing it. (Click on that logo to visit the Voices Website, okay?)

Y'see... my friends and I... a bunch of ordinary people, refuse to ignore the carnage that is ravaging the Iraqi people... today... now... since the U.S. invasion.

And, there is a woman we've found named Elissa Montanti, an otherwise ordinary New York woman, who has made 4 trips into Iraq to get people and bring them here to the States for the medical help they cannot get in that war-torn part of the world. She is an angel... a true hero. And, she's goin' back in two weeks! We want to help her do the work she has chosen to do in any way we can. Therefore, VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

She has done amazing things already for so many... but, everyday there is much, much more to do. We're also going to help a wonderful group of people doing the same kind of work, called LIFE. For these men and women, the nighmare hits very close to home. So, we're gonna do what we can to help them make this world a better place.

Here's the lineup of artists who are gonna join me on stage so far.

Christine Lavin
Roger Bartlett (My pal, "Dodger")
Sam Leopold
George Wurzbach

The list is growing. And, we're hoping for some really amazing surprise guests. You can get tickets for this event right now, today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website. EVERY TICKET... ALL THE PROCEEDS ARE GOING DIRECTLY TO THESE GROUPS... ALL OF IT! THE ARTISTS ARE WORKING FOR FREE AND THE PRODUCTION IS BEING PAID FOR WITH OUTSIDE CONTRIBUTIONS!

AND! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

Hey, to find out more about Elissa Montanti and the work she's doing, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. She's the main reason we started the whole thing. And, click here to find out more about LIFE.

And, oh... listen! If you're new here! Why don't you register in the new "Forum" (message board) while it's still there and jump in there to hang out with people from all over!

MAKE TODAY A SPECIAL DAY... OKAY?

I'll see you soon.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
