Hey... y'know, a whole lot of people from the New York City area, across the country, and around the world have been stopping by here for a long time. But, I understand there are a bunch of new people visiting here these days. Welcome!
It's really a very cool thing.
It's like, nobody knows about "The People on the Hill"... except the few hundred thousand people who know about it.
Anyway, it all makes me a very, lucky man.
Thanks.
Got rained out this past weekend. And at this time of year, y'never know if we're gonna get out to Central Park for another outdoor concert. But, I have a feeling we'll get at least one more weekend in.

Um, before anything else.
Well... Yankees! Tough loss. Season's over. (Now, with all this free time, I can start writing that book.)

Yanks, thanks for another exciting season.
Y'know, immediately after the game last night, the Angels hadda get on a plane and head to Chicago to start the series against the White Sox. (I guess I hafta be pulling for the White Sox in that one. They haven't won a championship since 1917. I'm a sucker for an underdog.)
Now... LAST NIGHT!
Once again, thanks to Jim Caruso and his "CAST PARTY" at Birdland, I had the opportunity to play one of my songs for a whole new audience. Different kinda crowd than I'm used to.... but, a roomful of warm, nice people.
I ran "Where'dat Money Go?" by them and I think they kinda dug it. Very cool.
Damn! I love making music! I love sharing it with people!
I really do.
Hey, y'know... today... if you're new here, please visit the VOICES TOGETHER website as well. Right now, okay?
YOU CAN GET TICKETS FOR THIS ONE-TIME CONCERT RIGHT NOW!!!
And, we're still looking for support as far as the production costs of the concert. You can be a real part of this amazing and worthwhile event. All you have to do is reach into your heart, and then into your pocket and send us a few bucks, or whatever you can afford. (We're still looking for that angel or two who can afford to help us with a few thousand dollars or more, but every donation means soooo much.
Seriously.
And, if you help us with the production, you will be listed as a "producer" of the show on both the website and in the program that evening.
What is VOICES TOGETHER?
A small, but growing, circle of friends, artists, and just plain good people getting together to try to make a difference for the better in this world right now. Y'know, Margaret Meade said...
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
Whether you feel the war in Iraq is a bad thing or... uy... a good thing, (I can't believe I just typed those last 3 words!) - (sigh) ... anyway, it's an undeniable fact that people who are paying the dearest price are the innocent civilians, the ordinary people in that part of the world. Y'know, Hurricane Katrina claimed 972 victims. In just this past month of August alone 1,524 Iraqi civilians were killed... many women and children.
Children.
August alone. ONE MONTH! Does it surprise you to learn that?
1,524
Any idea what happens to the other innocent people who were standing near them when the bombs went off? The ones who survived?
They are suffering terribly... injured beyond description, children orphaned, wives widowed with no means of support. And, they are being ignored by the most of the world... by our government, most of the news media, and nearly all of the American people.
I'm a writer of songs. I'm a musician. What can I do?
What can we do?
THAT'S the reason for the VOICES TOGETHER Concert.
I hope, whoever you are, that you are willing to support this effort.
Let me put it another way.

Y'know?
.
Ordinary people like you and me. Y'see, caught on the front of the violence in Iraq have been thousands and thousands of innocent people. Ordinary men and women just like you and me. And, thousands of children have been left horribly hurt and orphaned. (Some people don't want to hear that or acknowledge this horror. I know! I've got the emails to prove it!) But, it's undeniable that many, many more fold civilians have been killed and hurt in this war than military. It is our intention to raise as much money as we possibly can to support two groups of good, good people who are on the ground in Iraq making a real difference in the lives of those whose lives are being torn apart by this war. Bringing them medical help where there is none, offering them a chance to put their lives back together. One woman that we want to support with this concert, Elissa Montanti from Staten Island New York, has made 4 trips to Iraq to bring children hurt in the daily bombings back to a hospital in the States for the medical help they need so desperately. She's an angel. (This summer, she actually brought two children she helped from the other side of the planet to "The Hill" in Central Park for an afternoon of music.)
So, we are putting up the VOICES TOGETHER Concert in January, here in New York City. The whole idea of this gig is this...
ORDINARY PEOPLE (like us)... HELPING ORDINARY PEOPLE (like them).
So... here's your chance to do something really worthwhile today.
Click on this logo, and go to the VOICES TOGETHER website.

...and help us out. Okay?
Make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.
And, if you see me on the streets of Manhattan today, say "Hey".
Thanks again.
