Happy Halloween everyone. Thanks for stoping by the website today.

Well, if yesterday was the last "outdoor" gig of the year, then it was a great one to go out on. Y'think?

I had a great time yesterday. The little Mini-Me kid that was dancing and mimicking everything I was doing made my day. Of course, at this time of year, every year (maybe it's cause I sing so long and hard in the autumn air.) ...I start fighting something in my throat that surrounds my vocal chords. So, singin' the high notes was a chore yesterday. And, today, they've tightened up so I can't even talk. But... worth it?

Oh, yeah.

Of course, I hadda wear my Halloween costume a day early. I couldn't help it. I couldn't wait. So this year for Halloween...

Oooooh... scary!

No... yesterday was amazing and it might have marked the end of another amazing year. So, thank you, all.

Y'know, there's a really nice guy and talented photographer who's been coming out to "The Hill" this summer, a guy named Sean, and he said he's probably gonna email me a few photos from yesterday. Check back in a little bit and I'll post them, okay?

There are a whole lotta new people hitting this website from all around the city, and in different parts of the country, and even different parts of the world.

Welcome! Try to stop back every day!

What else? Oh yeah... here. I'm still giving away the song "JesusLand" again. If you want a free copy, or wanna tell a friend about it today, just click on this link that says...

...that's it, David! You're goin' to hell! (JesusLand)

Pass it around to your friends. Email the link to everyone you know. It's Free.

Funny thing about the song "JesusLand". I get dozens of emails about that song... most of them really cool. The vast majority of them positive and funny. Got about a half dozen more this morning. I also get a few heartfelt emails from people who "get" the song, but have mixed and uncomfortable feelings about the lyric. I understand... I do. I've had some beautiful encounters and exchanges with people about it in the past.

But every now and then, I get an email that is sooooo far off base that I don't even know what to say.

I think the wisest thing is to say... nothing.

Anyway, I personally dig the tune and I'm grateful I was in the room when it wanted to be written.

So, what's up for the winter?

Well, first thing... in about 7 weeks, Every year, for the past 9 years, we've seen the year out the door with a gig at Merkin Concert Hall near Lincoln Center. I always, always look forward to that night. This year is no exception. That room gets filled with 450 of the nicest people in New York City and we have a blast every year. If you wanna get tickets today, you can. Or, make sure you start to round up the friends you wanna bring to this thing, and get tickets this week.

Box office: 212-501-3330

Box Office Hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 12-7pm
Fridays: 12-3pm

The concert is only about 7 weeks away!

Also... then, in JANUARY!

You've gotta be a part of...

Click on that logo to visit the VOICES TOGETHER website. I'll tell you all about this fantastic and worthwhile event... a benefit concert to get direct help to the innocent civilians whose lives are being torn apart by the war in Iraq. Y'know, nearly 100 Americans died there just this month alone in the Wolfowitz-Cheney-Rumsfeld War. But, are you aware that over 620 Iraqis have been killed in the violence.... just this month. So, many more hundreds have been horribly wounded... many of them children. We're doing this concert to get direct help to them. We found some remarkable people taking extraordinary and heroic actions to help them.

I'll be writing much more about that concert tomorrow.

Anyway, whatever you're doing today, I hope you make today a really special day... a good memory.

Oh, one last thing...

I got an awful lotta fun email about the little drawing I did... the one I posted over the weekend. (After Dick Cheney's right hand man, "Scooter", got indicted for repeatedly lying to a federal prosecutor.)

Click on picture for full-size image.

So, I was thinkin'. Y'know, I noticed that the "Forum" (message board) has been a little bit dead since the new format arrived. So, if you have a good title or caption for this cartoon, why don't you post it in there. The best one will win a pair of free tickets to the gig at Merkin Concert Hall. (I won't be the judge, though!) Then, maybe I'll do more cartooning in the coming weeks. But, let's just see how this goes. Post your idea in the "Forum" and indicate if it's a title or a caption.

You'll find the contest in the "Politics" section.

Okay, got a lot to do today.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
