Life here in New York City is just very cool.

Got a call late yesterday afternoon from a friend from "The Hill" in Central Park.... really nice guy named Bob Waldman. Seems he's friends with a woman over at Comedy Central... (Who seems like a genuinely cool woman.) ...named Terri Abrams. Met her last night. She works on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Now, anyone who has spent any time here on my website knows that I think the whole crew at The Daily Show are just about the best in the business.... really on top of their game. And, Bob knows that I admire the serious fun they have with world events. So, he gave me a call, said he was invited as a VIP, and we went over for yesterday's taping. Bob knows, above all, that Jon and I think and feel about things in this world... well... in very much the same way. Okay, sometimes a slightly disturbing way... but, let's just say Bob feels like Jon and I would get along.

Anyway, he suggested I bring along a copy of "JesusLand", "Reality TV" and "Talk Louder" (The cell phone song)" for both Terri and Jon.

Hope they enjoy the songs. (If not, y'know, if you open a CD with a razor blade, and slip it out of the wrapping very carefully, and save the cellophane intact, it's kind of easy to re-gift. Um... not that I've ever done that!)

But, it would be kinda cool to see those guys from that show out on "The Hill" next summer.

Or, even cooler... it would be wonderful to get Jon invloved with the VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

Already, if the lineup stops right now you guys are in for an amazing night. Christine Lavin. has agreed to join us in this effort. And, Sam Leopold has confirmed. Waiting to hear from Karlus Trapp and George Wurzbach... and, a couple of other surprise guests. Listen... more about the concert in a little bit.

Just wanna say a HUGE "Thank You" again to Jim Caruso for putting together that thing he does called "CAST PARTY". Last night, I heard Jim close the night with a version of "If I Only Had a Brain" (Yeah, that one) ...that would melt your heart. (This guy "gets it".)

Hey, about the VOICES TOGETHER Concert... wouldn't it be something to have someone like Jon Stewart pop in as a surprise guest... or, to really help us by hosting it. (Yeah, yeah. I know what your thinking. But, I haven't had a drink or done drugs in 14 years!)

Why are we doing this concert?

Because a war is a war. And, the perceptions about the war in Iraq have been so sanitized for the American people it's unconscienable.

We hear reports recently about days of few attacks and little violence. Okay... how many Iraqi civilians have been killed in the first 18 days of this month alone... before the huge lock-down and curfew?

Over 200

And, there are reports that as many as 30 more civilians were killed by direct American military action yesterday.

Hundreds and hundreds more horribly injured. Hundreds of thousands since the U.S. invasion... many, many of them children.

We, the ordinary people of this world, are going to help them. Because almost nobody else is.

There is a woman names Elissa Montanti, an otherwise ordinary New York woman, who has made 4 trips into Iraq to get people and bring them here to the States for the medical help they cannot get in that war-torn part of the world. She is an angel... a true hero. We want to help her do the work she has chosen to do in any way we can. Therefore, The...

Concert!

She has done amazing things already for so many... but, everyday there is much, much more to do.

And... she's goin' again.

.
Dalal lost her leg in the fighting . . . . . . . . . . . Dalal sowing off her new leg with Elissa

But, there is soooo much more to do. Please help us... help Elissa... help them.

You can get tickets for this event right now, today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

BUT! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

Hey, to find out more about Elissa Montanti and the work she's doing, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. She's the main reason we started the whole thing.

And, oh... listen! If you're new here! Why don't you register in the new "Forum" (message board) while it's still there and jump in there to hang out with people from all over!

But, be cool, okay?

Thanks for everything.

Hope I see you soon.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
