Whoa! Well... I'm comin' off a 3-day weekend of makin' music.

Thanks to everyone who showed up at any of the gigs I played around town.

First, I gotta say, Saturday in Central Park was golden. It was a golden day out there at "The Hill". I know alot of you went outta town for the weekend. And, I know there are people reading this in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But... if you were here in town and you hung out in Central Park this past Saturday, you now what I'm talkin' about. Hundreds and hundreds of cool people. Everybody singing. Perfect weather...

"The Hill" in Central Park

Whew!

Then, Yesterday! On the Free Kayaking Dock in Riverside Park! Thanks to a whole bunch of cute, sexy young women from Barnard College, the promenade down by the river turned in a dance floor for a while. Y'know... to see that many beautiful people, many of them strangers just walking by and jumping in, dancing to the music comin' out of one wooden box strung with silver wire! That's livin'! Everything from the Beatles to Matchbox 20.

Very cool.

Damn! I love this town! I love this Life!

And, the day before on Sunday... at the "Storyteller Hill" in Riverside, I got to hang out with another bunch of wonderful people. There, I got to play alot more of my own songs. We talked about the songs I've written, told stories about other songs we love, even pulled a few songs outta my hat. And, I got to look deep into the eyes of some of the most beautiful people I've ever seen.

I'm a lucky man.

Oh man! Speaking of little surprises in Life that are cool... a film maker named John Moody has launched a website called "CentralParkTV.com".

If you click on this banner, it'll take you there. He's done a story about "The Hill" in Central Park called "Lucky Man", where he interviewed some of you guys. And, in another section, he even made a kind of a live music video of the song "The People on the Hill". Go check it out if you feel like it.

Here:

Y'know, it's because I live my life one day at a time... takin' it ALL in, and makin' it up as I go along, that I'm in a state of nearly constant amazement, passion, wonder, and gratitude. Passion is a great word. It's a "grab-life" feeling. It's one of the reasons that when the opportunity to use my gifts to make a difference in the world for the better comes along, I usually jump at it.

So, check back here a little later... or tomorrow... and I'll let you all know about a benefit concert I'm gonna be a part of to help the people on the Gulf Coast and around New Orleans. It'll be this Wednesday night at the Triad on West 72 Street. But, you hafta check back for the time and other details, okay?

ALSO! I've been letting you know this for the last few days... if anybody has been thinking of buying an extra copy of "Common Ground" or "Crazy on the Same Day" or the single "JesusLand"... for now, go get it from this company, CD BABY... and EVERY NICKEL of my profits goes to the relief effort on the Gulf Coast and in New Orleans.

Okay?

Okay, listen... if you're new here, or reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world, you can take a minute or two to browse through the "Archives" over there today. Even stop in the "Forum" (message board) if you feel like it and say "Hi". You can also email me personally through the "Contact" button.

Cool?

Now... HERE'S SOMETHING YOU'RE GONNA BE HEARING ALOT ABOUT IN THE COMING WEEKS AND MONTHS... the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT

Click on this logo and visit the new website...

...and, find out how you can be a real part of the VOICES TOGETHER concert. Really make a difference for the better in this world. A very real and direct difference.

If you don't know what I'm talking about... this concert is part of a sincere effort to get as much help as we possibly can directly to the innocent civilian families, especially the children, who are living through the war in Iraq.Voices Together website as a concert "producer". Because that's exactly what you are!

This is gonna be a very special night, sometime in January here in New York City. And, like I said, you are welcome to be a real part of it. Help us produce this concert so that we can help some very special people who are doing some very remarkable work in that part of the world, okay?

And, it'll feel good to help. And... it'll actually be fun.

Okay, listen. Today, if you see me around town on the streets of Manhattan... say "Hey".

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
