Thanks for stopping by the website.

Just wanna let you guys know... I'll be out in Central Park on Saturday. At this time of year, alot of people start asking me, "How long into the Fall do you keep playing?"

I always tell them the same thing.

"Don't look at the calendar. Look at the thermometer. If it's 60 degrees or warmer, the odds are pretty good you'll find me singing in the park."

Most years we make it to the World Series in late October. Some years it's gotten too cold a lot earlier. One year, it was kinda freaky... we were actually out in the park every weekend until December 4th. (But, that was an anomole.) So, y'never know.

But, this weekend looks great. So... Saturday afternoon, okay?

Speaking of the World Series... man! A pennant race doesn't get any tighter than this! The Yankees and Red Sox are still tied for first place and it looks like it's gotta come down to the last series this weekend at Fenway. (MLB flipped a coin a few weeks ago, though. If New York and Boston finish with identical records, the extra game will be played in the Bronx at The Stadium.)

Oh, listen. The webmaster at this site, James Marino, has built a brand new "Forum" (message board) for you guys. So, go on in there and say "Hi" if you feel like it. In the past few weeks, hundreds of people in the park have signed up for the email list. So, I know there are a bunch of new people here, from all around the New York City area, across the country, and in different parts of the world. I get dozens of really wonderful emails from all over the place.... every single day. I could never answer them all. But, KNOW that I really do read every one. (Ha! Even the occasional hatemail I get from nasty people. You should see some of it!) I dig it all. I learn so much about you guys, about human nature, about Life. So, thanks... and... WELCOME to the newcomers.

Anyway... music.

Working on a few new songs. But, it's been really hard to get my heart in a place where I can let them write themselves... until we get on a little more solid ground with the VOICES TOGETHER Concert. We have a lot of work to do. But, right now we need YOU!

YOU can become an important part of the Voices Together Group.

Y'see... some very close friends and colleagues of mine are involved in an effort to produce a concert to help some people who reallly need help right now. In January, we are going to mount the VOICES TOGETHER Concert. (YOU can help us produce the show... and, you will be listed on the VOICES TOGETHER website as a producer.

Here's the whole idea of this massive effort.

Ordinary people... helping ordinary people.

Y'know, if you truly want to make the world a better place, there are different ways to go about it. Some people feel you can do it with bombs and bullets. But, this isn't an argument or a debate.

'Cause, one way that is undeniably true for me is to actually reach out and directly and physically help someone.... or, someone's child who has been horribly hurt in a war.

Y'know... it's gotta be just a little bit harder to hate someone who is bandaging your child's head, or fitting them with a new leg. It's gotta be just a little bit harder to hate someone who's rebuilding your home or your school.

Please... click on that logo further down, right now, and go to the VOICES TOGETHER website and help us produce this show. Because once the production costs are covered... EVERY nickel of the proceeds from the gig will go directly to Elissa Montanti and her Global Medical Relief Fund (She has made 4 trips to Iraq to bring injured children to the States to get the medical help they need so desperately.) We'll also be helping an group called LifeUSA, who do amazing good work on the ground in Iraq with the ordinary, innocent civilians whose lives are being torn apart on a daily basis in the fear and violence in that part of our world.

So, go ahead... make today a special day for yourself. Click on this logo...

...and help us out. Okay?

Of course, we're looking for those huge angels who can afford to send a $5,000 tax deductible donation.... or $1000... or $100... but, ANY amount will help.

And you will ALL be listed on that website as "Producers" of the show... and, in the program that night!

Thanks.

Hope I see you at the Red Lion this evening. We'll have a lot of laughs. And, maybe we'll have a few special guests!

Thanks again

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
