Well... what a day out there!

Oh man!

I'm in Central Park today, from around 12:30 to around 6:00, okay? Thanks for stopping by the website.

It's gonna be a phenomenal day. But, y'know? We're feeling that first little blast of autumn in the air, hah? I'm actually gonna bring a shirt to wear for later in the day! You guys might wanna actually bring a sweater. (Whoa! I sound like your mother!)

But, I will see you in the park!

And, like I said... my good, good friend and partner who recently moved out of New York City, lead guitarist Roger Bartlett, is coming through town this weekend. I invited him to come out to "The Hill", and he's gonna sit in for a while. Gonna be great. I live makin' music with Dodger! It's be cool if Dave Marcus shows up, too. We'll do a little three part harmony... make some stuff up as we go along. Maybe singer Kathi Gillmore will come out as well. We'll see how the day goes.

That's Dodger in the cool lid.

Oh yeah...

And, I don't know if you are aware of it, but there is a huge Anti-War march going on in Washington D.C. today. We might have a live broadcast from there around 3:00. (Ain't technology grand.)

I was talkin' to somebody on the phone the other day, and I mentioned again how cool it is being able to do what I do, flying under-the-radar for so long. I mean, nobody knows about what I do in Central Park every week... except the few hundred thousand people that know about it. (Truth is, man! I gotta write that book!) But, I swear... if I find the next young voice of reason, I'll bring him or her out to "The Hill" and make them a part of the VOICES TOGETHER Concert in January.

Hey listen... as far as that concert goes. I was backstage at a benefit for the victims of Katrina last week, and I chatted with songwriter Christine Lavin about it. Hoping to talk to Christine again this Monday. Now... we are trying to get another very special artist to join us in this effort. If we do... this powerful and beautiful evening will become even more powerful. Close your eyes and hope that he says, "Yes."

Most importantly, if you are reading this right now... WE NEED YOU TO SHOW UP!

Um... no not only at the concert. We need you to show up now. Please go to the VOICES TOGETHER website right now and make a tax-deductible donation to help us produce the concert in January. You will be listed on the site, and in the program, as one of the concert "producers"... because that is literally what you are. If you can help out in a really significant way, please feel free to email one of us personally through that website, and we'll be happy to meet with you over a cup of coffee someplace.

Cool?

In the meantime, please email me and let me know if you really do want to help out with producing this gig. I will meet you, sit down, and listen to what you think you can bring to the party. Right now, we need to raise about another 20 to 25 thousand dollars. It's so cool... already, the "People on the Hill"... you guys... have raised over $11,000. Maybe we'll find that one or two angels among us who can afford to give $1,000 or $5,000 or more. IT'S ALL TAX-DEDUCTIBLE so that oughta help!

If you don't know what I'm talking about... this concert is part of a sincere effort to get as much help as we possibly can directly to the innocent civilian families, especially the children, who are living through the war in Iraq.

This is gonna be a very special night here in New York City. And, like I said, you are welcome to be a real part of it. Help us produce this concert so that we can help some very special people who are doing some very remarkable work in that part of the world, okay?

And, it'll feel good to help. And... it'll actually be fun.

Y'know what!? Click on this logo and visit the new website...

...and, find out how you can be a real part of VOICES TOGETHER. Really make a difference for the better in this world, when ordinary people here reach out to help the ordinary people of Iraq.

Okay, that's enough from me.

I'm gonna make a lot of music and look into a lot of beautiful faces today.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
