Another September.
September 1.
Feeling a little... melancholy today. A sweet, sweet sadness. Maybe not melancholy. Maybe that's not the word. Just feeling content, completely okay, and a very deep sadness... all at the same time.
But, hey! It looks like we're going to have a nearly perfect 3 day weekend, weather-wise. So, if you are staying in town this weekend, try to join me somewhere for a little music, okay?
I can't wait to get a guitar on my shoulder and share some music with you. Tonight, I am actually singing on board the Pioneer again, that beautiful old schooner that sails out of the South Street Seaport.

It's an early "Sunset Sail". These things are beautiful. The Pioneer sails all around New York Harbor for 3 hours as the Sun goes down in the west. Not a bad gig. That'll be a tonic for my soul, I'll tell ya!
Then, on Saturday, I'll be at "The Hill" in Central Park... naturally.

"The Hill" in Central Park
Then, on Sunday... I will definitely be at the "Storyteller's Hill" down by the river in Riverside Park. Then on Monday, as a favor for a friend.. I'm gonna crank up down by the Free Kayaking Dock in Riverside Park, near 71st Street. Just for a while.
Oh, hey listen... the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT!
We're just getting started with this effort and it's already really exciting. You can click on this logo and visit the new website...

...and, find out how you can be a real part of it. Really make a difference for the better in this world. A very real and direct difference.
If you don't know what I'm talking about... this concert is part of a sincere effort to get as much help as we possibly can directly to the innocent civilian families, especially the children, who are living through the nightmare of the war in Iraq.
There are people in this world who could really use a hand right now, and it doesn't take wa whole lot to help. Just... feeling and caring... and then... action.
It's also gonna feel really good to be a part of this. It is gonna be a very special night.
Oh, and speaking of people who are need of help.
If you have been thinkng about picking up that extra CD of mine as a gift for a friend or somethin' like that, right now, if you wanna buy "Crazy on the Same Day" or "Common Ground" or the single "JesusLand" through a company called CD Baby... I have arranged it so that ALL of the profits from those sales are going to the Relief Fund in New Orleans.
Buy one of my albums through CD BABY...
...and, help the people on the Gulf Coast.
What else?
Um... okay, I know there are people reading this in different parts of the country and around the world. If you feel like it, you are all welcome to jump into the "Forum"(message board) over there and say "Hi".
Everyone else, in or around New York City... I hope I see you this weekend. And, if you see me on the streets on Manhattan today, say "Hey"!
Thanks for everything.
