Thank you, all!
Well, yesterday at the "Storyteller Hill" in Riverside Park was just very cool. What a day! Once again... I looked into the eyes of some of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. There is something special goin' on in my life. I can feel it. A breeze is blowing through my soul. Somethin's up for sure.
Oh yeah! And, if you were there with me yesterday, and you saw that photographer shooting pictures all afternoon... he was doing that for a book that a guy is writing about Riverside Park. So, if you were there yesterday, you're probably gonna be in a book. I'll let you know when it's published and released, okay?
I said it yesterday, too. Saturday in Central Park felt the same way...only with a whole lot more people.

"The Hill" in Central Park
Today I'm putting my guitar on my back and heading out again.
This time, a good friend of mine asked me to head down to the dock on the Hudson River, just below the 72nd Street entrance, where they do Free Kayaking all day. Seems they're having a Labor Day picnic kinda thing. So, I'll just pull up a stool up on that bunch of huge rocks near the river, and share some music with whoever happens by. (Not a bad thing to do with a day. Especially if there's free food involved!) I'll be sure to do a few Labor Day songs... y'know like... Paul Anka's, "Havin' My Baby".
(groan)
Besides... I hate that song.
Anyway, if you're meandering around town... especially if you have no specific plans, or you find yourself hangin' out alone today... head over. Take a kayak out for free and hang with me for a little while. This is New York, man!

Kayaking in the Hudson
And again... just an early heads-up.
Next weekend, weather-permitting, I will be at "the Hill" on Saturday afternoon again. But, the following day... Sunday, September 11... I will be there, too.
It's where I belong.
So, if you have no idea what to do on an odd day like 9/11, if you don't want to make it, y'know, "just another day"... and, you don't want to be sullen and morose, but you want to be around warm and loving people, many whom also lived through that day 4 years ago... head on out to the park with me.
ALSO! I've been letting you know this for the last few days... but, if anybody has been thinking of buying an extra copy of "Common Ground" or "Crazy on the Same Day" or the single "JesusLand"... for now, go get it from this company, CD BABY... and EVERY NICKEL of my profits goes to the relief effort on the Gulf Coast and in New Orleans.
Okay?
Okay, listen... if you're new here, or reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world, you can take a minute or two to browse through the "Archives" over there today. Even stop in the "Forum" (message board) if you feel like it and say "Hi". You can also email me personally through the "Contact" button.
Cool?
Now... HERE'S SOMETHING YOU'RE GONNA BE HEARING ALOT ABOUT IN THE COMING WEEKS... the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT
Click on this logo and visit the new website...

...and, find out how you can be a real part of the VOICES TOGETHER concert. Really make a difference for the better in this world. A very real and direct difference.
If you don't know what I'm talking about... this concert is part of a sincere effort to get as much help as we possibly can directly to the innocent civilian families, especially the children, who are living through the war in Iraq.

This is gonna be a very special night, sometime in January here in New York City. And, like I said, you are welcome to be a real part of it. Help us produce this concert so that we can help some very special people who are doing some very remarkable work in that part of the world, okay?
And, it'll feel good to help. And... it'll actually be fun.
Okay, I'm in Riverside Park near the Kayak Dock today. Come with a friend. Come by yourself. Bring your love of music and your love of New York City. Maybe I'll see you there.
If not... have a great day, wherever you are.
Thanks again.
