I know there are people reading this in other parts of the country, and in other parts of the world. Thanks for showing up, today. Here in New York City, kind of a good day for "inside work". (Both kinds of inside work.) Gonna have a few thunder storms roll through, there's a little chill behind them for tomorrow... y'know... Autumn.
But, in two days, the Sun is gonna be shining and it's gonna feel like Spring. So, I'll be heading out to Central Park with my guitar. And, if you're anywhere in the New York City area, you're welcome to join me, okay... on Saturday.

Then, on Sunday I'm probably gonna head over to Riverside Park, all the way down by the river just a little north of the 79th Street Boast Basin, to the spot I call the "Storytellers Hill". Hope I see you at one place or the other.
Today, my "inside work" is gonna include kicking around a couple of new songs. Who knows? Maybe I'll be able to run 'em by you all this weekend as a couple of works-in-progress.
Also, today... got some important news about the VOICES TOGETHER Concert. More on that further down the page.
But... AHHHHHH!
Yankees! Won a nailbiter last night! Great game! Great time of year for scoreboard-watching, too! (For those of you who don't know what that is, that means while you're watching one game, you keep looking at the scoreboard to see what's going on around the league in other games as the scorebard is updated.) Last night, the Yankees won and Boston lost to Toronto at the same time. So, the Yankees are one game up with four to play.

And, the last three games are against the Red Sox in Fenway. I'll breathe a little bit easier tomorrow morning if the Yankees win again tonight. (Be cool if Boston loses, too.) Watching the Yankees clinch the division in Fenway would be kinda sweet.
Okay... but, that's all in the "Toy Department".
This is the important stuff.
There is a WAR raging in Iraq. (Yeah, it's been going on through the hurricanes, Tom DeLay, Bill Frist, Judge Roberts and everything else.) There is an insurgency against the American and British occupation of that country... sure. But even more dire and dangerous, there is a civil war and more and more sectarian violence rising between the three peoples indiginous to that part of the world. (Whether it turns into an all out regional conflict with Saudi Arabia, stepping in to aid the Sunni population, and Iran who is already helping the Shiite, is yet to be seen. Hope and pray for the best in that regard.)
But, caught in the middle have been thousands and thousands of innocent people. Ordinary men and women just like you and me. And, thousands of children have been left horribly hurt and orphaned. (Some people don't want to hear that or acknowledge this horror. I know! I've got the emails to prove it!) But, it's undeniable that many, many more fold civilians have been killed and hurt in this war than military. A small group of friends and colleagues got together to form the VOICES TOGETHER GROUP. It is our intention to raise as much money as we possibly can to support two groups of good, good people who are on the ground in Iraq making a real difference in the lives of those whose lives are being torn apart by this war. Bringing them medical help where there is none, offering them a chance to put their lives back together. One woman that we want to support with this concert, Elissa Montanti from Staten Island New York, has made 4 trips to Iraq to bring children hurt in the daily bombings back to a hospital in the States for the medical help they need so desperately. She's an angel. (This summer, she actually brought two children she helped from the other side of the planet to "The Hill" in Central Park for an afternoon of music.)
So, we are putting up the VOICES TOGETHER Concert in January, here in New York City. The whole idea of this gig is this...
ORDINARY PEOPLE (like us)... HELPING ORDINARY PEOPLE (like them).
BIG NEWS!
We may announce, as soon as tomorrow, that we have chosen the venue and date for this event.
So... here's your chance to do something really worthwhile today.
Click on this logo, and go to the VOICES TOGETHER website.

...and help us out. Okay?
Make a donation, right online, and become one of the "producers" of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It's gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.
Of course, we're looking for those huge angels who can afford to send a $5,000 tax deductible donation.... or $1000... or $100... but, ANY amount will help.
$50... $25... whatever you can really afford to give.
And you will ALL be listed on that website as "Producers" of the show... and, in the program that night!
It's important. It's the GOOD thing to do.
Okay, so check back here tomorrow or at the Voices website for the possible announcement of the venue and date. I'll also let you guys know all about it in Central Park this weekend.
Hope I see you on Saturday afternoon.
Thanks again.
