The temperature climbed near 100 degrees yesterday. But, with the humidity... the heat index made it feel like it was actually 617.
That's true!

Anyway, if you are one of the hearty (or crazy) people who came out to "The Hill" in Central Park yesterday... thank you. It was great making music with Dodger. (And, Dave Marcus jumping up and singin' those harmonies.) Very cool.
Today... okay... same thing?
Heat?
I'm just gonna head over to Riverside Park and hang out under the trees down by the river... maybe catch a breeze off the water... play my songs. If you're not doin' anything, head over and hang out. It's a little more intinmate over there in Riverside. We talk a little more about the songs and how they were written... and the cover tunes we all love.

Riverside Park
Seriously... maybe if you're not getting to the beach, it might be a nice idea just to bring a blanket and stake out a spot under a tree, today.
Anyway, listen... this is not gonna be much of an update today. I'm just gonna pack up and head out with my guitar. Maybe I'll see you there.
This coming week, though, there's gonna be a lot going on here at the website. For one... I hope to announce the launching of the VOICES TOGETHER website. There you will be able to find out all about the progress being made on the VOICES TOGETHER concert in January.(That's the concert I'm planning with some good friends and colleagues to get help to the thousands and thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians who are being so badly hurt in the war in their country.)
Basically, it will be an intimate but extraordinary songwriters circle at the Hammerstein Ballroom, with some very special artists sharing their music for a vital cause... to get direct help to as many of the innocent civilians, the ordinary people in Iraq, who are being so badly hurt by this war. It will evening of music, laughter, some tears... but, most importantly, it will be a hall filled with good people who care about making a real difference in this world. It will be a room full of people who won't ignore the reality of this war, and who know that, while war is always abhorant and immoral, this war is especially so... and that civilians and children are NOT collateral damage. Somebody's got to take care of them.
"It's just us."

If you wanna get your heart around the spirit of the thing, here's a link to a recent update. Go ahead and click on this link for the update from July 27th. And, then come back and go ahead and click on this link, too.
Click here to get a general idea of what we're planning and why.
Okay, see you down by the river today. We'll play some obscure tunes, tell some more stories... maybe reveal the seceret location of the perfect diner!
(ssshhhhhh)
um... uh... no... not a chance.
Thanks again.
