Hey, thanks for stopping by the website.
First thing today... I headed out of town again to help my Dad with his new computer. Kind of the blind leading the blind. But, he's all set now. This afternoon... a lot of work on the VOICES TOGETHER concert. (More about that further down the page.)
And, listen... told you guys this yesterday. Weather-permitting, I'll be at all 3 of the usual venues this weekend. Friday night at the "Sunset Concert Series", Sunday at the "Storytwellers Hill" down by the river in Riverside Park...
...and, of course, on Saturday in Central Park.

This evening, I'm actually gonna be doing a couple of tunes at a book signing. I was asked to play at the Borders Books in the Time-Warner Center at Columbus Circle (7pm) by a woman named Daylle Deanna Schwartz who interviewed me a while back for her latest book...

So, yeah... I'll probably head down there and one of the two songs will be "Crazy on the Same Day". (Might mix it up a little by playing something a little controversial for the second song. We'll see.) If you're not doing anyting and you're in the area, why not stop by, especially if you're an independent musician. It's a pretty cool book.
Okay, the concert. Hey, maybe tomorrow I'll be able to announce the launching of the new website. My buddy, Dennis, has really done a great job with a web designer named Natalia Fisher, and they came up with a great site. Even though it will be under construction and evolving for a while, when you go there, you will be able to find out everything you need to know about this concert we're gonna do in January. We're gonna need help from all of you. In the very beginning, we're especially gonna need donations for tha actual production costs of the concert. (So, if you ever wanted to be a concert producer, here's your chance to be a part of a really worthwhile cause.)

What exactly is the VOICES TOGETHER concert gonna be?
This is how I explained it yesterday...
I love this quote by Margaret Mead.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
Well, me and a small group of friends and colleagues are gonna try to make a difference in our own tiny way by putting on this concert in January. It's already a massive project and alot of work... kinda turning into a full-time job. But basically, we want it to be an intimate but extraordinary songwriters circle at the Hammerstein Ballroom, with some very special artists sharing their music for a vital cause... to get direct help to as many of the innocent civilians, the ordinary people in Iraq, who are being so badly hurt by the war. It will evening of music, laughter, some tears... but, most importantly, it will be a hall filled with good people who care about making a real difference in this world. It will be a room full of people who won't ignore the reality of this war, and who know that, while war is always abhorant and immoral, this war is especially so... and that civilians and children are NOT collateral damage. Somebody's got to take care of them.
It's up to us.
So, I'll let you know when the site is ready to go live. It will be the place where you can get involved, too. We're gonna be asking for all kinds of help from all kinds of people... ordinary people like you and me... who wanna make a difference in these people's lives if we can.
This is not a time to sit by and do nothing. It's also not a time to talk... talk... talk... spout platitudes and blah, blah, blah.
Hey listen, we're gonna make it very very easy to reeeealllly help these people. We've found some remarkable people who are actually on the ground in Iraq. Hopefully, we will have the actual concert financed already, so that money EVERY ticket you buy will go directly to help these people.

I hafta laugh. Well, sometimes... I don't know whether to laugh or cry. So many people who support this nightmare of a war are soooo full of hot air and bluster. It would be funny if they weren't so blind to basic American principles and Truth. Either way... they are welcome to help in this particular effort too. It might do their souls some good. Who knows? That's not up to anyone but them.
As John Lennon wrote... "I hope someday you will join us."
Anyway... I hafta run right now.
But, I will probaby update this page later.
Maybe I'll see you tonight at Borders, or at one of the gigs this weekend.
Thanks again.
