Well... the Yankees have fallen five and a half games behind the Red Sox by losing two out of three to Chicago. But, you can't blame the man I started calling my new favorite Yankee... Aaron Small.

(I went up to the stadium a few weeks back with a friend of mine on one of the first days the unknown Aaron Small was pitching. And, I jokingly said, "As long as he keeps winning he's my favorite Yankee. For the rest of the day, anyway... he's the best.")
Well, he won that day and hasn't lost yet. But, Small took the mound against the White Sox last night and held Chicago to just 4 hits over 7 innings, striking out seven... but the Yankees lost 2-1 in extra innings. BUT... YOU CAN'T BLAME MY FAVORITE YANKEE!!!
(And... he still hasn't lost, yet.)

A good friend of mine sent me this great quote about the troubles with the Yankee pitching staff this year.
"The Yankee pitching staff is the baseball equivalent of a food fight right now -- it's messy, it's hell to clean up, but at least it's not dull."
Baseball is all in the "Toy Department" of life. But, I love it.
Anyway, listen... thanks for stopping by today. I guess it's a typical August, weather-wise. Hot, muggy, daily chance of popcorn thunderstorms. But, I'm thinking the weather is gonna be great for this weekend. Um... tomorrow night, Friday night, is gonna be one of the last times you're all gonna get to hear Roger Bartlett and I make music together for a while. (Dodger and his wife are moving to Las Vegas next month.) But this weekend, he might even show up for a while on Saturday in Central Park... we'll see.

"The Hill" in Central Park
Lookin' forward to hangin' out with you guys this weekend... "Crazy on the Same Day" - "Relax It's Only Life" - "Who the Hell Knows?" - "Reality TV" - "Talk Louder" - "Where'dat Money Go?"
If you're new here at the website, take a look around. Look through the "Archives" and see what we've been up to around here. I can tell you, the foundation for the VOICES TOGETHER concert is starting to come together. I will be letting you all know very soon how you can help. VOICES TOGETHER will NOT be a political event in any way. No political advertising will be allowed. Instead, this will be a concert to raise money to get help to the civilians victims of this war in Iraq... the women, men and especially the children who are being killed and horribly wounded, and who's lives are being torn apart on a daily basis by this war. If you wanna get your heart around the spirit of the VOICES TOGETHER concert, here's a link to a recent update. Go ahead and click on this link for the update from July 27th. And, then come back and go ahead and click on this link, too.
Click here to get a general idea of what we're planning and why.
We'll have a separate website up and running very soon, so that you can all participate in this worthwhile effort, and leave your politics in the message boards here.
AHHHHH... speaking of which...
I KNOW
IT'S ONLY ROCK N ROLL
BUT I LIKE IT!
Well, here's to Mick Jagger, The Rolling Stones, and their new release "Sweet Neo-con".

Good for you, Stones! That's rock n roll. Jump in!
Me?
I try not to put politics in my songs... just reason and Truth.
But, I don't shy away from the songs that want to be written, either. That's what a folk/rock musician's job is... to refelct the world they see in song. For anybody who's interested... this sure ain't rock n roll, because the people behind George W. Bush decided to market him as a cowboy instead of a rich, son of an oil man. So, here's another song about the hypocrisy that is a daily way of life in this White House, and in a percentage of this country's people. But, I hadda write it as "country" tune. It is my own musical tribute to hypocrisy.

Have fun. Pass the link around to all your friends. The song is free.
Anyway... I'll let you know how we make out with that other website... soon, okay?
Hope I see you in Central Park on Saturday... and, on Pier 45 tomorrow night, and in Riverside Park on Sunday.
Thanks again.
