Well... I'm in Washington D.C. today.

.

.

"Mr. Guitar Man Goes to Washington"

Yeah, even gonna put a shirt on. Shoes? Probably not. (They'll only make me take them off when I go to visit the Senator, anyway. So, what the hell.)

Gonna be speaking with some people who may really help facilitate the benefit concert (Voices Together) we're planning for January, to help the civilian people of Iraq... especially the children, who are being so badly hurt and so egregiously ignored by so many in our government, the news media and most Americans. Wish me luck.

Give you a full report tomorrow when I get back.

If you wanna know what this is all about... or, if you wanna get your heart around the spirit of the thing...

In the meantime, look... there are alot of people who read this website in different parts of the country and differnt parts of the world. You're all welcome to jump in the "Forum" (message board) and kick things around with each other. Actually, you're welcome in there all the time. If you're new here, you might wanna look through the "Archives" at some of the past updates to see what goes on around here.

Y'know, you might wanna read the homepage updates from the past 2 or 3 days. There are a couple thoughts and feelings in there that... well, I might be interested to read some of your reactions and feeling about.

Yesterday was a pretty cool day for me in Riverside Park, because some very good friends from a very long time ago showed up to hang out... "The Breeze" and Jerry G. the brought the women in their lives with them and Jerry brought his son, too. Man! Haven;t seen them in... honestly can't say how long.

Good, good feeling.

Um... BUT!

Y'know, I caught sooooo much flack in an awful lotta emails when the Central Park gigs were moved to Saturday. And, yet, only a handful of people showed up in Riverside Park yesterday. Our friends, Ed Grimm and Park Administrator K.C. Sahl, have gone to a lot of trouble to arrange the music for you guys. But, I'm really second-thinking the whole Sunday thing. If you want the Sunday concerts to happen over there... um... show up. (I'm gonna be really busy really soon with the planning of the "Voices Together Concert". So, let me know how you feel about the Sunday gigs, okay?)

Hey listen, if you were in Central Park this past Saturday... thank you! What a day! Y'know, when I'm talking about concerts, or gigs, or afternoons of music in the park, I often say, "Well, they all can't be golden. Every one is wonderful, but they all can't be golden."

Saturday in Central Park... was golden.

If you were there... thanks.

If you're in or around New York City, guess I'll see alot of you in person next weekend, starting Friday night at Pier 45, and then in Central Park on Saturday.

But, I'll see you all here at the website tomorrow... okay?

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
