Hey, thanks for stopping by the website.
If your new here and you live in New York City, or you're reading this in another part of the country or another part of the world... welcome! Take a look around. Look through the "Archives" over there and check out some recent updates. Jump into the "Forum" (message board) and say "Hi".
If you were in Central Park yesterday, thanks so much for another amazing day! The whole day was a special one for me. I mean, it felt like the Love songs flowed, the funny songs flew, the story-song resonated, and the songs about Truth and Reason really landed. And, sooo many of you came up to me on a one-on-one basis and said the coolest things. It was as if you knew that I needed to hear some kind and encouraging words to reinforce that I'm doing what I'm meant to be doing. And, I just had a lot of fun... a lot of laughs...
Thanks.

Well, today is Sunday. I'm gonna really enjoy today, too. But, I've been sooooo conflicted about playing music in Riverside Park. So, what I think i'm gonna do is this...
I think I'll head over to see if I can find a nice shady hill, all the way down by the river, just north of the 79th Street Boat Basin Cafe. In my mind, I'm picturing a couple of places that might be kinda cool to hang out. I'll head over there about 1:00 or 1:30. Maybe I'll make it a kind of "Storytellers" kind of afternoon. Y'know, let you guys in on some of the stories behind some of the songs I've written. And, maybe even talk about some of the cover tunes and why I love them so much. But, this way if it doesn't feel right... or, if the people who pushed so hard to have music in Riverside don't show up again... I'll just head over to one of the cafes and have a burger. Either way, I'm gonna have fun today, doin' what I always do.... makin' it up as I go along!
Um... if you've got nothin' goin' on today, why not head over. It might turn into a really quiet kind of intimate day with a little guitar in the mix.
Hey listen. That "Forum" is for everyone. Nobody's messages get deleted in there. For that reason it's unlike other message boards around the internet. you can talk about music, movies, Love, sex, politics, world events... whatever.
I laughed about this yesterday, so it might bear repeating. There are people in there who occasionally turn the "Forum" into a little support-the-Iraq-war party or a little David-trashing-party. While I feel their comments about this war in Iraq are skewed, and their feelings about war in general are sometimes repulsive to me, I leave them up there in the message board, because... y'know... I said I would. It's all cool.
But, don't ever sweat it. I don't.
Ha! I'm learning to ignore anyone who ever thinks any "war" is a "good idea". I send good thoughts their way, and then go about the business of living as best I can... y'know, with the people I have in my life who "get it". (Cracks me up, though. Every so often somebody questions my right to speak out, eventually says that I should stick to playing music, and then insults my guitar playing. Ha! Go figure!) I recently wrote a song called "I Love the Company". Believe me... that song is NOT about those other people. It's about people I'm meeting who know that dishonesty is... um... let's see... a bad thing, and can recognize a phony from 3 New York City blocks away. That war is always abhorant... and, that children are not collateral damage.

Listen, in recent weeks on this website... if you wanna know what all the talk around this benefit concert is about... VOICES TOGETHER ...or, if you wanna get your heart around the spirit of the thing, here's a link to a recent update. Go ahead and click on this link for the update from July 27th. And, then come back and go ahead and click on this link, too.
Click here to get a general idea of what we're planning and why.
I will update you all on the progress of the thing regularly here on the homepage, and my friends and colleagues and I certainly welcome any positive suggestions and comments in the "Forum". I'm really interested in getting as many good people together as I can that actually wanna take some action and do something Good to make a real difference in this world... one child at a time... one heartache at a time. I'll just be one of the people with a guitar on his shoulder.
And listen... if you are one of the people who support this war in Iraq, all politics aside. Leave it at the door. I sincerely hope you join us in this effort to help these people who's lives are being torn apart by this war. Y'know... put a little action where the words are.
Cool?
Maybe I'll see you guys in Riverside Park today.
Thanks again.
