Another Monday... hope you guys had a great weekend.
I had a busy weekend of music... and, meetings about the benefit concert we're planning for this coming winter. It's in it's very early stages, but today, if you wanna know more about that concert, hit the "Archives" button over there and look through some of the recent updates, okay?
Hey! Do you wanna turn an ordinary Monday into an extraordinary day!?
I'll tell you how a little further down the page. Seriously. I have an idea that will make you feel great... today! And, make this a day in your life you will probably be really grateful for. Make you smile that quiet smile when nobody else is looking.
First... Y'know, recently through this website, through the "Contact" button... I've been receiving an awful lot of email. It's very cool. Most people have really cool things to say. And, the songs suggestions are great. People send me ideas for songs I could think about writing, and songs by other artists they feel I oughta cover. Once in a while I get something negative, and sometimes... just plain stupid or mean. But, I guess that comes with the territory.
It's all cool.
I love what I do. It's an adventure. It's a ride.

Hey, I spoke with Roger "Dodger" Bartlett yesterday. He's back in town and, if we ever get anothert Friday evening that it doesn't rain, he'll be joining me again for the Friday night "Sunset Concert Series". It's always a great gig down there on Pier 45. But, for me, it's always a little better when Dodger shows up and sits in.
So, listen... about this concert. If you're gonna go negative on us for doing this, save it, okay? Actually... stick in in your ear. Y'see, the idea behind this effort is not that "Live-8" hoo-ha kinda thing, where it's all about raising awareness and no money. This is all about raising money... money to make the work of a few good, committed people easier. This all about getting direct and practical help to the people who are helping the poor people in Iraq, the innocent civilians, the families, the ordinary men women, and the children whose lives are being devastated by this WAR we're prosecuting over there in that part of the world. (Yeah, I know they had a bit of rain in Florida this weekend and some network news organizations are looking for, like... anything else to cover. But, there is a war going on... today!)
So, go ahead and look thorugh the "Archives" and then jump into the "Forum" ( message board) if you have any ideas at all about this effort, okay?
In the meantime, OKAY!
About making today an extraordinary day for yourself. All you hafta do is pick up the phone, or send an email... and, then either go to a store, or shop online, and call Fedex or the Post Office... just a couple of things. And, you will really and truly make a very real difference in these kids lives.
.
Not a bad way to spend part of an ordinary Monday, hah?
They are Tara and Hamdani and they are coming to New York to be the guests of this woman.

Elissa Montanti
She's one of the people we're going to do the concert for, because she's helping so many of the kids in Iraq. But, these two beautiful little people were caught in the Tsunami. Elissa Montanti is an angel in their lives right now, and she could use a hand with these kids, too.
Elissa calls her organization, the Global Medical Relief Fund. But, it's really just a few people... moslty just Elissa and her good friend Kenan, who are working the very real, very practical miracles for these kids who've been so badly injured.
Listen, click on this link to see the work she's been doing, okay?
Global Medical Relief Fund
And then, take a look at this list of things she says she could really use... right now.
Seriously.
Playstation
Nintendo
Detergent
Cookies
Direct TV (Hmmm. Any of you work for this company?)
A computer
Carpets
Cordless Phone
Books and Videotapes in Arabic - for the kids and their parents
Towels
Paper Towels
Wagon or Big Wheel (no bikes)
(And this one is BIG!)
Gift Certificates for (Anyone can make this kind of a gift) Burger King, McDonald's, attractions and tickets such as to a zoo, and grocery store certificates.
Can you, or anyone you know, help out with these things? (Ha! You might wanna email Elissa and ask her what you can do, first. Because... Ha! I could envision her getting 25 cordless phones!!!)
No, seriously give her a shout and see if you can send her some of this stuff, okay? You can contact her directly here:
