Hey... thanks so much for stopping by today. If you're new here... welcome! If you live in a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a minute to stop in the "Forum" (message board) and say "Hey" if you feel like it.

I'm in Central Park like always today, from around 12:30 until I... y'know, fall over... around 5:30 or 6:00. So, if you're in town today, maybe I'll see you in the park at "The Hill". I'm really looking forward to singing a string of pretty songs today. And, lately I've really been diggin' the part of the afternoon where you guys start asking for tunes I don't really know... but, we take a run at 'em anyway.

"The Hill" in Central Park

And, if you sent me an email through this website recently, please know this. I really do read every single email I get. But, I get sooooo many that it is impossible to answer every one... even the ones I put aside to definitely answer. They just get away from me. So, if you wrote something and you feel like I owe you a reply, would you email me again... or, just know that I've read yours and that I'm trying to get to it... okay?

Whew!

Today, in the park... I'm just hoping to smile alot, like we always do.

Now, about Riverside Park tomorrow. I'm still really conflicted about it. I'm thinking... maybe... ah, y'know what? I'll just let you guys know tonight or tomorrow morning, okay? Check back here at the homepage. It'll depend on the weather, and if a location jumps out at me. The last two locations we played are definitely out. But, hmmmm... maybe down by the river... near the tennis courts or by the free kayaking dock at the 72 Street entrance.

What else? Oh hey listen. That "Forum" is for everyone. Nobody's messages get deleted in there. For that reason it's unlike other message boards around the internet. you can talk about music, movies, Love, sex, politics, world events... whatever.

Just on a personal note... there are people in there who occasionally turn the "Forum" into a little David-trashing-party or a support-the-Iraq-war party. While I feel their comments are sometimes harmful... and, their feelings and logic about war are sometimes repulsive to me, I leave them up there in the message board, because... y'know, I said I would.

But, don't ever sweat it. I don't.

Ha! I'm learning to ignore anyone who ever thinks "war" is a "good idea". I send good thoughts their way, and then go about the business of living as best I can... y'know, with the people I have in my life who "get it". I recently wrote a song called "I Love the Company". Believe me... that song is NOT about those other people. It's about people I'm meeting who know that dishonesty is... um... let's see... a bad thing, and can recognize a phony from 3 New York City blocks away. That war is always abhorant... and, that children are not collateral damage.

Listen, in recent weeks on this website... if you wanna know what all the talk around this benefit concert is about... VOICES TOGETHER ...or, if you wanna get your heart around the spirit of the thing, here's a link to a recent update. Go ahead and click on this link for the update from July 27th. And, then come back and go ahead and click on this link, too.

Click here to get a general idea of what we're planning and why.

I will update you all on the progress of the thing regularly here on the homepage, and my friends and colleagues and I certainly welcome any positive suggestions and comments in the "Forum". I'm really interested in getting as many good people together as I can that actually wanna take some action and do something Good to make a real difference in this world... one child at a time... one heartache at a time. I'll just be one of the people with a guitar on his shoulder.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
