Thanks for stopping by today.

Whew!

Sometimes, y'just gotta step back, slow down and clear the old head out!

The Yankees were home today in an afternoon game against the Minnesota Twins up at the Stadium. So, I jumped on the subway and headed up there to watch some baseball!

The Yankees won 6-3 and picked up a half game on the Red Sox. Who was on the mound for the Yankees? Aaron Small. (Yeah, I know... Aaron... uh... who?) It's been a very strange season. And, the fact that Joe Torre has the Yanks this close to first place with a pitching staff that has been held together with duct tape and crazy glue is kind of amazing. but, Small pitched well and... um.. for today... I'm the president of the Aaron Small Fan Club.

A recent update.

Okay... music...

This weekend, I'm gonna be down on Pier 45 at the end of Christopher Street in Hudson River Park for the "Sunset Concert Series" at 7:00 on Friday night. Then on Saturday, of course, I'll be at "The Hill" in Central Park.

"The Hill" in Central Park

Now, the music in Riverside Park is really something that is "up in the air". I'll let you guys know tomorrow if it's gonna happen anymore. Something's not feeling really good about it. Alot of the people who said they really wanted it to happen, aren't showing up. Last week, we heard complaints like the early days of the Central Park concerts... even one woman last Sunday who kinda got right up in my face. I'm just not about that.

So, a good friend of mine suggested that maybe I just oughta head out to Central Park on both days of the weekend if it feels right and the weather permits. I'm considering that.

I don't know.

We'll see.

Anyway... today, if you're looking for me, I'll be kinda behind the batter's box on the first base side.

If you wanna know what all the talk around this benefit concert is about... or, if you wanna get your heart around the spirit of the thing, here's a link to a recent update from this website. Hit the "Archive" button and read yesterday's update. (July 27) And, then come back and go ahead and click on this link, too.

Oh, by the way...

...war is always immoral. And, the way we started the war in Iraq, and were misled into it, is an affront to decency and everything American. However, that's NOT what this concert is about. This concert is to help the innocent people who are being hurt the most by it.

That's all.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
