Hey... how you doin' today?

I hope well.

Listen... yeah, yeah. I know. Short updates. This is gonna be another one. Sorry.

I didn't sleep very well last night. Had a lot on my mind, and then some asshole neighbors downstairs from me got home, probably drunk, and watched television from 3:30 to 4:45 am.

Oh well, the price of life in the Big City sometimes. I'll deal with it.

Um, okay... I'm gonna be down at the Red Lion tonight, for the SGA Songwriters Circle. Like I always say... this is just one of those little special New York Secrets that happens on the last Monday of every month. I get to share a stage with other songwriters who I really admire... some of the cleverest, inspired, and some of the funniest people I've ever worked with. (I think George Wurzbach and David Buskin are back in town, and I believe John Wallowitch is gonna be on the stage again.) So, if you're not doing anything tonight, head over to Bleecker Street and Thompson... between 7 - 9.

I'm also hoping to let you know sometime this week about music in Riverside Park on Sundays. In the meantime (weather permitting) we'll just keep hangin' out, enjoying music and each other's company, on "The Hill" in Central Park on Saturday's, and at the Sunset Concert Series on Friday nights, okay?

If you are new here, THANKS for stopping by. Take a look around. Take a look through the "Archives" and through the "Forum". Jump in and say "Hi". If you are reading this in another part of the country or a different part of the world like a bunch of people, let us know where you are.

But, like I said, this is gonna be a short update again today... mainly because I've gotta run to a meeting with some wonderful people about our benefit concert project to help the civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan. (Oh listen, I think some poor, mean individual in the "Forum" took a verbal swipe at our effort to help these people.) But, y'see, unlike the Live-8 Concert, which is trying to "raise awareness", (which is also a good thing, I guess.) ...the purpose of our project is to "raise money and supplies" to go directly to the brave and compassionate people we know who are still on the ground in both Iraq and Afghanistan, bandaging wounds, comforting the orphaned children, and trying to put lives and bodies back together... which are being torn apart by this war... every day. So, when someone pokes at us... ooooh, I sooo don't care! We're going to do some Good. Even if it will never be enough. We're going to do something. And, you are ALL going to be welcome to help.

I'll let you know how as the project evolves, okay?

Okay, a little fun with current events before I hafta go.

TIME FOR A NEW GAME! A little game of current events to test your recent memory... just to see if you're paying attention!

Answer: One man made absolutely crazy statements about the course of the war in Iraq and lived in a fantasy world of self-delusion convincing some, but very few, of his own vision of how the war was going.

The other is Baghdad Bob.

I'll see you guys soon, I hope. Maybe tonight at the Red Lion.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
