Hey, thanks for stopping by today. No matter where you are in the country reading this, or where you are in the world... welcome to New York City for a few minutes.

I played a great gig last night.

Every once in a while, I get asked to play aboard a historic schooner that sails out of the South Street Seaport... called "The Pioneer". She sails all around New York Harbor as the sun sets, and it is just one of those amazing things that make this town so special. Y'know, I'm out there, playing and singing songs on this beautiful old vessel, while watching the sun slowly setting over New Jersey, shining behind the Statue of Liberty and reflecting off the buildings on the Brooklyn waterfront. I watch the sky turn indigo behind the Brooklyn Bridge, and watching the lights begin to sparkle in the skyline of Manhattan. And, man! Takes your breath away.

And, for me... that's when I feel like turning to the nearest person and saying, "Quick... ask me what I do for a living!"

They usually say, "Um... okay... what do you do for a living?"

And, I smile and say...

.

"This!"

.

Or... y'know...

.

Can't possibly wonder why I feel like such a lucky man so much of the time!

Anyway, hey listen! I will be out in Central Park, on "The Hill", on Saturday. I think we're gonna have a weekend of great weather!

Now... good news for all of you who were a little bit pissed off at the move from Sunday to Saturday this summer.

Just got off the phone with the Riverside Park Administrator, K.C. Sahl... (who, by the way, sounds like a great guy!) ... and we're all clear to try out a few afternoons of music in Riverside Park... SUNDAY AFTERNOONS! Riverside Park has just gotten more and more beautiful over the past few years. And, this spot is a cool "Hill" up near the Hudson Beach Cafe. (As best as I can figure, this is the exact location. I know if you enter the park at 103rd Street you can't miss it.)

Okay?

So, now if you'd like this to become a regular thing, try to show up this Sunday. (It's kind of a test.)

Um... if you are new here, take a look around.

I'm gonna be in the "Forum" (message board) a little later. I hafta read through the transcript of Bush's speech. (I was singing on a schooner in the harbor while he was on TV.) I just wanna see if he did any more "dis-assembling" or if he was "abscribing" anything to anyone. Kinda funny. I read that two of the 3 networks (CBS and NBC) weren't even gonna air it until the last minute. The feeling was, there was nothing newsworthy in the speech. So, I'm gonna give it a read. You are all welcome to chime in and offer your thoughts and feelings in the message board as well... about anything from music, to politics, to movies, to Love, to sex, to... y'know... anything. (Just be cool.)

Okay, gotta run right now.

Maybe I'll see you in the "Forum". If you stay in town, I hope I see you sometime over the weekend.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
