Hey... thanks for stopping by today.
Had a really interesting day, yesterday. Hadda go out of town for some personal family thing, but then got back to town in time to go to a book signing party at the Hard Rock Cafe... for the release of a new book titled, "I Don't Need A Record Deal".
Y'see I was interviewed for that book a long while back. Kinda cool. When their website is up and running, I will ask James Marino to link you guys to it.
Hope you got the email message I sent out today. Gonna be quite a run of music in the next few days. I will be playing on Pier 45 tonight at the end of Christopher Street in The Village at 7:00. (The "Sunset Concert Series". a little music, a few laughs... watch the sun go down.
Then tomorrow, of course, by The Lake in Central Park.
But, you're gonna hafta check back here tomorrow to find out if this Sunday is going to be the first weekend for a concert in Riverside Park, okay? I'm expecting a call today from the administrator over there. If that happens, I have a feeling it's gonna be a very cool thing.
Then, Monday night is the "SGA Songwriter's Circle" at the Red Lion on Bleecker Street (7:00). If you've ever been to one of these circles, you know how much fun they are. John Wallowitch, Sam Leopold... other artists. Y'never know who's gonna sit in.
I know there are people who stop by this website from all across the country and different parts of the world... Ohio, California, Germany, France... Rio de Janeiro! But, if you live anywhere around New York City, I hope I see you at one of these gigs. They're all pretty cool in their own special way. And, y'know what? THEY'RE ALL FREE!
Aha!!! That's the problem!!!
No, just kidding. I love doing gigs that everyone can get to.
It's what I do.

So, what's going on today?
Well, I guess it's pretty obvious to most people that Dick Cheney has started drinking. In keeping with the Bush administration's policies of misinformation, creating false impressions, deceit, hyperbole and... and... okay, they're just a deluxe version of most politicians. But, in keeping with their policy of absolute bullshit and creating their own reality, he said that the war in Iraq was in it's "last throes".
Yesterday, he defended that outrageous statement by... ready for this... defining the word "throes". (Well, at least he did better than his boss did when he tried to define... dis-assemble!)
"If you look at what the dictionary says about throes, it can still be a violent period, the throes of a revolution," Cheney said in an interview with CNN.
Okay, we want to be an informative and resourceful website... so here's the definition of "throe"
throe
Pronunciation: 'thrO
Function: noun
1: PANG, SPASM (death throes / throes of childbirth)
2: plural - throes: a hard or painful struggle (the throes of revolutionary social change)
So, yeah... throes are a violent, painful, spasmatic occurrence. Got it, Dick! Brilliant!
The reason I know he's drinking heavily, is that he defined the wrong word. (And, the reason I'm always saying that the American "news" media basically doesn't exist anymore, is that nobody bothered to point out that he defined the wrong word. They consistently let men like Cheney get away with this kinda thing.) The operative, key word in his statement was not "throes", you knuckleheads... but "last"!
Here's the defintion of last.
last
Function: adjective
1: following all the rest (he was the last one out) b : being the only remaining (our last dollar)
the final one
.
.
So yeah, either he's...
.
.
... gotta be drunk.
.
.
.
.
Or, he's just being good ol' honest, smiley, loveable...

Dick Cheney.
(shudder)
brrrrrr... Okay shake it off.
Anyway... listen, it's just typical. Sadly, there are just soooo many myopic ideologues in this country that actually buy this crap. Oh well. It's cool. We probaly don't hang out in the same circles.
Anyway, some of my friends and I are trying to put together a concert to help the innocent civilians that are taking the brunt of the casualties and heartache over there in this war... the non-military men, women and children who are suffering so terribly. I'll let you know more about it as the project evolves. But, if you feel like it...
...click on this link to kinda catch up.
Hey, you're all always welcome to express your feelings and opinions in the "Forum" (message board) over there. If you're new here, and you wanna have a little fun, browse through the "Archives". I might actually stop in the "Forum" this afternoon. Whatever you're doing today... make today worthwhile, okay? Smile more than you don't.
Maybe I'll see you tonight on the Pier, maybe in Central Park tomorrow, maybe in Riverside Park, maybe at the Red Lion, maybe in the "Forum".
Wherever... hope I see you soon.
Thanks again.
