Okay we've got our first really hot, steamy weekend of the summer. I guess droves of people will be heading for the beach.

Me?

I'm gonna be making music out by The Lake in Central Park. So, if you are staying in town, maybe I'll see you sitting under one of those huge trees on "The Hill".

Ah, shade. I'll be the only one evaporating!

I'll start playing at the usual time... y'know around 12:30. Then, we'll just hang all afternoon, til around 5:30, okay?

Um... I still haven't heard from the administrator over in Riverside Park. So, if you wanna know if tomorrow is the first day for a concert in Riverside Park, you're gonna hafta check in here tomorrow morning, okay? If I get the call this morning, I'll post it here. But, otherwise, I won't know until late tonight.

But, remember, this Monday night is the SGA Songwriters Circle. And this week, I'm pretty sure that George Wurzbach is back in town. (Remember George? My guest at the last concert in Merkin Hall?) Those things at the Red Lion, on Bleecker Street in the Village, are like one of New York's great little secrets. The songwriters that I get to share the stage with are some of the most amazing artists and actually some of the funniest guys I've ever worked with. Really very cool.

Listen, seriously... head out to the park today and hang out in the shade. We'll make it a long, lazy day of music and laughs, okay?

Sorry for the short update. Here at the website, we'll get back into the swing of things this coming week... taking a look at the news and stuff. But right now... Central Park! We'll have the usual smiles, laughs and singing together that we've been having out there for so many years. It's such a cool, thing I get to be a part of every weekend. Lately, I've been running some new songs by you guys. Havin' a great time.

Thanks so much.

If you're new here... again, sorry abut the short update. Take a look through the "Archives" why doncha!

Or, stop in the "Forum" and hang with the people in there. People hit this site from all across the country and around the world. Go say "Hi".

Oh, again... here's something. Along with some good friends of mine, I'm working on putting together a very special benefit concert this winter. I'll be talking about it more as the project develops. But, if you wanna get an idea about what's going on...

...click on this link to kinda catch up.

And, if you'd like an update on the war in Iraq, you can always go to the "Forum" here on this website. I will continue to honor the sacrifices being made over there by letting you, at least, know about them. Since the news media and the people in Washington have done their level best to ignore most of the reality of this nightmare/war, I thought it would be important to post something... somewhere ...about what's going on over there everyday.

Anyway... hope I see you soon.

Wherever you are today, whatever you're doing... make it a wonderful day, okay. Maybe make a sweet memory for yourself, today. It's the only June 25, 2005 we'll ever see!

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
