Hey... it's TUESDAY!
Thanks for stopping by today. Really. Try to stop by every day and ask your friends to come by as well.
Tuesday.
Tuesday's a funny day, in my mind. Always has been. Every other day kinda has a characteristic... songs written about them, traditions and religious superstitions based around them.
Wednesday is widely known as "Hump Day". Thursday is the "Unofficial Start of the Weekend", and always hosts Thanksgiving. Damn! People actually thank God it's Friday. Saturday has all kindsa religious stuff around it, and we all know "Saturday Night's alright for fighting" and is the "loneliest night of the week". Sunday... oddly the last day of the week end, while at the same time, the first day of the new week. (As confusing as that might be.) And again, all kindsa religious stuff, Mother's Day, Father's Day... "Brunch" day.
But, Tuesday is basically... Tuesday.
(Oh sure... once in a while it's election Day. But, let's face it. Sadly, more than half of the people in this country don't even seem to know that!)
I know alot of you are reading this in different parts of the country or the world. But, here in New York City, this particular Tuesday is just a beautiful day, and this year it's the actual beginning of Summer. Maybe today I'll make it a special day for absolutely no reason. Make it a day when I do or say something unexpected... take a chance.
Who knows?
This past Saturday was a great day for music in Central Park. I'll be there again on Saturday this week. And, I'm still hoping to find out if we are gonna be able to pull off an afternoon concert in Riverside Park this coming Sunday as well. Keep checking back here, and I'll let you know.

So, what's in the news today?
Well, yesterday (hit the "Archive" button if you weren't here) I began to question whether the Senate would be looking into John Bolton's "Kangaroo" connection. (Y'see, I suspect the man was the Captain.)
.

Yeah. The "Got Milk?" guy.
.
Also, Captain Kangaroo? Maybe.
.
Well, I did a little more investigating last night. And, I discovered something just as troubling. He may have actually had multiple aliases.
Rufus T. Firefly
Professor Quincy Wagstaff
Captain Spalding
J. Cheever Loophole
... among others.

Seriously, it's time for someone to get to the bottom of this.
What else is new? Oh, yeah... three years after 9-11, Porter Goss, the head of the CIA, was asked about Osama bin Laden. He says he's got... well, in his words...
"I have an excellent idea where he is. What's the next question?"
Hmmmm. Can you think of a good next question? Um... I have at least two.
Of course, intelligence experts have long said they believe bin Laden was probably hiding in the rugged mountainous border region of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Then again, Pennsylvania Republican and House Armed Services Committee member, Curt Weldon, writes in his new book, "Countdown to Terror," that a reliable Iranian source he identifies only as "Ali" told him that bin Laden has been in Iran for some time. "The course of world events have established incontrovertibly that Ali is a high credible source of reliable intelligence on Iranian and other terrorist activities," Mr. Weldon writes.
Then again, in yesterday's White House press breifing, Scott McClellan was asked what the White House thinks about the CIA Directors' remark about having and "excellent" idea where bin Laden is, and he responded, "I think what the Director is referring to was that he has an excellent idea of what area he may be in."
.
.
.
Ow. My head hurts.

.
At least they've got it down to, y'know, THREE countries. As a New Yorker, I guess that's pretty "excellent".
Hey, guys... maybe I'll be stopping in the "Forum" (message board) a little later today. You are all welcome there. And, in the coming weeks, I'll be telling you more about the concert we're planning to help the innocent civilians whose lives are being destroyed in Iraq... every day. We're going to do our best to make a real difference for these people. But, it's in the early, early stages of planning.
Hey, whatever you do today, I hope you make it a wonderful day... Tuesday and all. (Y'know, at the bottom of the ocean and in the middle of the deepest forest, it's business as usual. They don't know we even named this day "Tuesday". It's just another day.)
Just make it a beautiful day.
Thanks for everything.
